Default (Slightly) Interesting scenario in the SB...

Poker Stars, $0.25 NL Hold'em Tournament, 25/50 Blinds, 8 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

tander04 (UTG): 1,765
phrank68 (UTG+1): 1,265
iamthemagici (MP1): 4,325
vacjohn (MP2): 1,095
Spade'll Do (CO): 1,688
Lady Davina (BTN): 1,717
Hero (SB): 2,895
TamOshanty (BB): 25

Pre-Flop: (50) :Ks :7h dealt to Hero (SB)
tander04 calls 50, phrank68 folds, iamthemagici folds, vacjohn folds, Spade'll Do folds, Lady Davina calls 50, Hero ???

I was a little unsure what to do here, since the BB was all-in already. Should I just give these limpers my SB here??? Shitty cards to play obv. but I've never seen a hand like this (tiny stack all-in w/o even making the BB) w/o limpers galore. They usually fold to the first bet unless they have something that they, perhaps, should have raised with from the get-go.

It would be hard to say, but I'd still fold. You might be missing exceedingly thin value. Still, fold.

I folded, and in this case would've lost one SB, cause the betting got crazy after the flop.

No worris with the fold, calling is really out of the question, you can;t know what is really good with that hndad and then f there is even one cxtr yo aren't usre the best wya to value... eg, hit a K and then face a big bet, is he betetitn a draw or not? best value is to actually push in that case but how do yoyu know? Why not just fold, and give up on the very think value, it is +10 chips at absoluite best.

LOL

What the hell do you need to call from the SB here if K7o goes into the muck?

Ahh good thing we played drunken twister and made a big fire instead of staying indoors last night.

I'm thinking, just calling, so two-three gappers, suited kings, low suited aces, that's about it. Limping from the SB in these kinds of situations is really thin and you're going to be hard pressed actually getting this value.

both sfu and ugi keep saying from the SB, yada yada yada...

Are we ignoring the fact that it's (IMSO) (In my stupid opinion), it's really more like two BB's in a row, since the BB is all-in and can't fight with me IF I hit the flop big if I call here.

I undertand that it may be thin value, etc. but, I've noticed (and maybe it's just my tight play) that many of my won pots come from the BB where I win with cards I probably wouldn't have even played if they weren't "free".

I didn't act on it, but considered this as another chance to see a really cheap flop, even in this case with crappy cards, maybe.

I mean isn't one of the reasons to just call from the SB just to see a cheap flop where we feel confident the BB won't raise?

And, don't you have a slightly better position since you'll be first to act after the flop instead of second or third, etc?

Just Thinking out loud as usual.

This is why this was a tough one for me.

Think of it in this case like the BB but we only have half our bet out. We can choose not to put out the other half, unlike the normal situation, and not play the hand.

You shouldn't be winning a majority of your hands from the blinds. That's not right; the bigger pots come from raising your good hands in the early levels (just one raise and you have 6+ blinds in there at a minimum) and in the later levels pushbotting.
