Default Large stacks early fighting

Just played this hand.

What do you think? Villain is a complete unknown.

Ugignadl...?

As far as I can tell I don't have odds to call, and betting out on the river is madness.

These things can be shut a crap shoot. I'd fold. Actually I probably would have put out a small bet on the river rather then check and fold to any raise.

I'd bet my whole bankroll (hehe), he either has a 7 or a spade or both, but both is probably giving him too much credit. Most of the villians will shove when they hit ANYTHING during the course of a hand. Like they'll openraise with 2xBB, then shove when they hit bottom pair or even a single card of their suited hole cards. Runner Runner Flushes are like a 80% guarantee, right?

If this guy actually had a queen (with any kicker) I'd be shocked! But being that you said it wasn't what you thought, maybe he had 5s6s? nah, no way!
Ok, enough waiting, what did he have? I know you called him.

If I'm the villain I'm firing after your check 99% of the time regardless of my cards. I think this is a good spot for a blocking bet by you though.. And OMG don't tell me "If I bet I'll only get called by a better hand"... That is complete bullshit and if that was true even half the time, poker would be a different game.. Online poker is not littered by pros, or else we would all be broke! :)

So, as played I fold but I think you need to fire on the river and fold to a raise.. But if you check after betting all the way down, he is going to bet w/e scare card hits. Don't forget, there is always a scare card on the river.

I did fold in the end. I considered the blocking bet, but did not want to give myself odds to call. It might have been a good idea to still bet out on the river, but I figured any bet is probably not a bluff. That might be an unreasonable assumption however. Maybe QJ and KQ still bet the river even with the spades and straight out there...

By the way, my plan with the river check is to check every river and call any bet with a non-spade river. Since it was a spade, I could have abandoned this plan and went for the blocking bet, or go for the check. I decided on the check/fold to any reasonable bet. Sure he could have bluffed, but how often? It really looks like a flush or maybe slowplayed monster. I think a bluff is probably about the same probability as a monster here, what do you think the frequency of a bluff is with this bet?

It would be interesting to check/call any

I think a fold is ok, you have plenty of chips why risk them on this.

He has T4, and therefore you have a simple call.
