Default Looking for thoughts on this hand

I had some history on this guy. He tried a bluff and his line made no sense earlier. He plays a decent LAG game, so he knows what he's doing. I was honestly surprised his hand was as good as it was.

I could have just let it go when he raised me on the flop, but I felt I was ahead and had plenty of outs it I wasn't.. even if he has a set I'm ok odds wise.. (don't know the exact odds, but I should)

I should note that I think I played this hand pretty standard, but I need a bit of a reality check here..

Actually, if he has a set, you are most certainly *not* okay, odds wise. But I think his range contains (ironically) some flush draws as well, and it's definitely not entirely sets.

I play it the same I think.

I don't think I could find the balls to play that hand so aggressively. I like to drive my draws on occasion, but I dunno.

Plus I don't think I just just call pf. I like folding>raising>calling pf.

I totally read this hand wrong when you sent it to me: I thought it was HU and you had raised. stupid cake histories.

Now I think c/r is better. But, if we assume that the pfr bets and then villain raises, then I think it's a trivial fold.

This hand is similar to one we had many months ago where hero got check raised with an A-high flush draw on a garbage-y board (or maybe bet/raised). The consensus was clear: move all in.

I fold or 3-bet pre myself. Unless SB is a whale, which you said he seems decent so that's out. Mostly I fold though, unless you were quite a bit deeper, sb was really bad, or you felt a squeeze would have a high rate of success.

Edit: As played, I would usually check, we have good relative position on the pfr. If the pfr bets and sb folds I would typically c/r, if the pfr bets and sb calls I would typically overcall to keep worse draws in and play it pretty passively. If it checks around, hit a heart obv.

ya but in that case hero was the PFR and the pot was HU which changes the dynamic of the hand entirely

otherwise with the call I play the flop the same.

Better to check it on the flop. Obviously the SB CR implies a set so you would be better folding. Small chance of JJ and, obviously, a dominated draw. But neither is enough to make it worth sticking in another $90.
