Hand #1565012033001600: Paris (6-max) 12033
Seat 1: Tria*** (4.37 in chips) Seat 2: bgloser244 (9.18 in chips) Seat 3: Clas*** (19.74 in chips) Seat 8: MVF2*** (2.57 in chips) Seat 9: G.A.*** (7.85 in chips) Seat 10: scar*** (9.85 in chips) bgloser244: posts small blind $0.05 Clas***: posts big blind $0.10 Dealt to bgloser244 [ Qc Ac ] MVF2***: folds G.A.***: calls scar***: calls Tria***: calls bgloser244: feels like he's damned if he does and damned if he don't!!!??? I see it as a raise or fold. But if I raise, How much do you raise? Normally OOP, if I raise it'd be 3 or 4 BB + 1 for each limper + 1 for OOP, so that'd be like $0.80. But if even one limper calls then teh rest will get odds to call with just about any two cards and I don't want to play this multiway OOP. I have actually completed in this spot before when I'm at a table that I feel confident that I can steal the pot after the flop (with a c/r) whether I hit or not; but here I don't have any reads.

I raise AJ+ here, I'd make it 70c to go. Raising AQs should be insanely profitable here, moreso than limping imo.

I made it 75c to go and got one caller. The flop came 9 high with possible str8 draws. I C-Bet 2/3 Pot and got called.
The turn brings the potential str8. Check it down or Fire again?

I checked it down. Before I post results, I'd really like to hear some other opinions about what to do pf. Anybody?

I didn't give my preflop line. I'm raising big here 80% of the time. Why? Dead money and we probably have the best hand (if not, we're probably only 50/50, but better if you consider postflop FE).

Which cards complete the straight? I'd probably bet it again on the turn depending on the texture. What do we know about villain?

Am I really the only one who thinks completing preflop is bad?
I guess I shouldn't say it's more profitable than raising but I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea. As for postflop, it's usually time to release. You might have villains peel on you just to "see if you really got anything" in some other raised pot situations, but since you've raised from the SB you should get a little more respect. If position means nothing to your villain he might notice your larger than average preflop raise (a function of position, but we assume he doesn't understand that). Anyway, I wouldn't fold because I think he has a straight, necessarily, but a 9 high flop with potential straight draws hits a limp/caller's range more often than not.
