Because we're WA/WB. If we have the best hand we'll probably know it by the turn (or river) and we can get value then. There's not more than 2 streets of value if we're ahead but there can be 3 streets of losses if we bet.
I don't know, I've been told it's better to check here than to bet, honestly I'm not really too convinced either way.

Second hand raise him back, easy decision.
First hand think a little harder. Many times if he isn't very aggressive I like to instacall and then check straight to him on the turn. Otherwise, I find that people with high aggression factors don't like being raised back when they minraise on the flop. You can make it $9 to go here. Now if you don't have any reads at all on this guy then as SFU suggests a check is really the way to go. Especially against a QQx high flop. |

In hand 1 just call the flop and lead the turn. You're very likely ahead and his range certainly includes heart draws, JT, 9x, small pairs and maybe air. Reraising is going to commit you and scare away everything you beat, and by leading the turn you can still make him pay for draws. It's also cheaper to bet/fold on 4th street than it is to 3 bet the flop, where you could still be flipping at best, but more probably behind if he went all in.
I don't see anything good about checking without taking image into consideration. If you don't bet this flop with nearly everything you raise preflop then you're range is going to be to easy to narrow down to c-bets with nothing and checks with hands you don't want heat with. Having said that check raising is a good move here sometimes. Hand 2 reraise flop and probably go broke. Concerned over AJ/A6/66 and even JJ but it's possible he has a flush draw or a dominated hand. I think AK being amongst the lowest end of made hands that you reraise with is good. |
