No reads at the time on SB. I'm thinking.... dominated? Probably not, never know. Coin flip? Possibly. Folded and noted it.

It's fine as played. I like the raise from BB, and SB let you know that he is either a moron or had AA-QQ, AK, and you were in big trouble.

As it turns out SB was a moron. He raised pre flop with 9.4% of his hands, and each time it was an all-in push. In addition, he limped then pushed the flop several times. He showed his preflop push only once and had AKs on that occasion. However, none of this was known during my first hand with him as he just sat down.
He finally busted out and left, but not before completely chanigng the table dynamic. I managed to clear $100 on the table before it flamed out and busted up. Now, knowing this in a later hand would we check the BB preflop or raise preflop and call a push? Checking the preflop = folding to me because with AJ I really want to define some hands out there. If I check the flop I'm not playing anything but a miracle flop. As an aside, man last night was the night for all-ins over tiny pots. Must have happened about 50 times by 4 players on 2 separate tables. None of them did well.

LinuxRocks: I'm curious. What do you do if, preflop, you have :Ad: :Jd: in this spot (before the SB's all-in)? Apologies to OP for the mini-hijack. (As played I would also fold to the push, suited or not.) |

I would still check my option my from BB. The key thing to notice is that you are OOP and going to be facing 5 opponents and AJs is still not strong enough to play. You will see one of your cards paired only 30% of the time and you are going to flop a flush draw only 20% of the time. It's tough to play this hand if you don't hit any thing. Also, at low stakes you can always get your opponents money if you flop some thing good.
