Default AKs, OOP, really awful flop

I thought a refresher of this situation might be handy after playing it out tonight.
Some info: table was 40%VP with average pots in the $40 to $50 range.
BB: 19.5% VP 4% PFR Seemingly had no understanding of position. Highest VPs from Blinds and Early/middle Position. 0% VP from button. She was a 25%VP from the SB and 17%VP from the BB.
MP2: 21%VP 8% PFR Opposite of BB where his hands played came from Button, CO, LP but also loved to complete the SB for some reason. He had a 22%VP and 11% PFR from MP2.

UTG: $226.65
Hero (UTG+1): $215.95
UTG+2: $78.45
MP1: $133.45
MP2: $213.90
CO: $198
BTN: $95
SB: $143.05
BB: $236.35

CO posts $2
Pre-Flop: :Kh :Ah dealt to Hero (UTG+1)
UTG folds, Hero raises to $7, 2 folds, MP2 calls $7, 3 folds, BB calls $5

Flop: ($24) :Qs :5s :As (3 Players)
BB checks, Hero?

Flop: ($24) :Qs :5s :As (3 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $18, 2 folds

Results: $24 Pot ($1.20 Rake)
Hero mucked :Kh :Ah and WON $22.80 (+$15.80 NET)

If someone cold calls I'd be inclined to check/call less than 1/2 a pot. This is where I get unsure. Or do you fire another one on a non-spade turn?

Fire away if the turn is no spade.

You can bet the flop and then the turn, check raise all in on the flop, or check the flop and bet a non spade turn. But betting the flop and then checking the turn is a disaster because your equity over the flush draw is at it's highest on this street and you're offering him a free card. You're also going to look so spectacularly weak checking the turn and then having to check the fourth spade on the river that even a nit is going to bluff at you and you'll have to fold, or the river won't be a spade and you'll only get some value out of an AJ or worse type hand. Bet, bet is usually best.

Ahhh, thank you. Your post made it re-click for me. Sometimes I think keeping up with my poker game is like spinning plates on sticks.... gotta keep on top of all these different things and if you lose one it all starts to fall apart.
