Default Thinking about which book to read next...

After reading No Limit Texas Hold'em by Sklanksy/Miller, I feel that I need a bit of something different (and FRESH). I went to the bookstore (happily 5 minutes from work) to see if they had the book Darin mentioned above ^^^.

It's actually "Kill Everyone",

(shown here: Amazon.com: Kill Everyone: Advanced Strategies for No-limit Hold 'em Poker Tournaments and Sit-n-go's: Lee Nelson,Tysen Streib,Kim Lee,Joe Hachem: Books)

but that's no big deal.

The bigger deal is, they say it's out of print and that a new release was out 1/08 but they don't have any yet. So I'll have to wait...

While I was there, I came across this book: Amazon.com: Killer Poker Online, Vol. 2: Advanced Strategies for Crushing the Internet Game: John Vorhaus: Books This one's cheap. I could probably even afford to buy it.

I wondered if anyone has here has read both of these books and might recommend the one that I shold read next?

BTW, I may as well be a bit of a whore again, . If anyone has & read Kill Phil (The 1st version of Kill Everyone), or any other worth while book that you don't need to keep around, please PM me for my address. I'd be glad to take it off your hands.

BTW/BTW, I still have the book Merv sent me:

I'm just sure I'm "advanced" enough to partake in this one quite yet.

That book is intended for limit players and probably doesn't offer much useful advice for a low-stakes player like yourself. It's more for the bigger games (3/6+ online, 5/10+ live). I have to suggest the Harrington books, make sure you get volume 1 and 2. They're for tournaments and they're really good.

Hmmm. I never really noticed that the title didn't inlcude "No Limit". I haven't started reading it yet, but now I'll have to browse through it before I get my head any more confused.

Thanks for that.

BTW, BUMP!

Anybody else have any book suggestions? I have both Harrington Book in E-form, so I'll skip getting the "real" versions for now.

This isn't really so much a book as it is reading material, but reading all of these provided me with a very good foundation for cash game play.

Also, Harrington on Cash Games comes out in the next day or two. Part of me suspects it will be things I already know (since it IS a 2p2 book) or may not be relevant to a micro stakes player such as myself, but I'm sure it'd be a good read.

Thanks for the post 7's, but I hope I don't offend anybody by saying that I despise the site that those point to. I may never be a good poker player until I change that opinion, but, I dunno.

Haha, no big deal. I have to ignore a lot of what is said over there too, but there are certainly some really great players there. But mostly, a lot of the posts are just regurgitated standard answers, as if there is only one correct way to play poker.
