Default Tunica Part 2 (Cash Games)

Ranna and I went to get something to eat after the MTT was over. We went to the Epic Buffet Restaurant they have there. They serve all of our favorite foods (Shrimp, Crab, Lobster, Catfish, etc.) We had a nice relaxing meal and it gave us a chance to talk some about the tournament. What I didn't mention in the first report was that Ranna and I were not slow playing each other, which made it all the more fun. When I was short-stacked she was pushing in on me. :upset: We also laughed some more about the old man. She said she knew I was fucking with him and knew he couldn't take it. We actually had a few people stop by our table and thank us for busting that guy out and congratulating us. Kinda strange, but everyone we spoke with said they hated that guy too and they were glad he didn't win.

Anyway, on to cash games!

After dinner we decided to relax in the room for a bit. Four hours of that tournament wore us out. Ranna decided she was too sleepy to play, so we laid down for a while. She was asleep quickly and I started watching some Reno 911 and then some sports center. We've never been to bed before 4am in Tunica before, so it felt a little odd.

After about an hour I decided to take the laptop downstairs and see if ML was on AIM still. That last time I spoke with him he said he would kill himself if I wont the tournament. :mrgreen:So, being the good friend I am, I had to see if he would hold up his end of the bargain. I didn't win I guess, but the wife and I got 50% of the prize pool, so I think that counts.

The conversation went something like this:
Randy: Hey man- Are you ready for it?
ML: Did you fucking win????
Randy:
Well, Ranna and I got down to four players and chopped for 50% of the pool
ML: DIE!!! :upset:

Anyway, a little while later, Ranna got up and called my cell. She came down from the room and said she wanted to go play again.

When we got to the poker room there was only 1 table of 3/6 fixed limit going :?: I was not happy about this because I wanted to play 1/2NL not FL. The poker room at the casino we usually go to just isn't doing very good at promos and such. Even though they treat us nice, we are considering trying Sam's town on our next trip to Tunica. I also hear Sams' Town has way better comps. The Hollywood only gives $2.50 an hour..

Anyway, Ranna decides to go play some slots and I sit at the 3/6 table. My first hand is :Ac: :Ad: - It goes six handed to the river and somehow it holds up. I get :Ac: :Qc: the very next hand and the flop is :As: :Qd: :5d: - It's bet, raised, and then I re-raised, and everyone called. The turn is a :QS: and it's checked to me and I bet out. It's around to the last guy to my right and he re-raises, and then we end up capping. The river is a :Ah: and I bet, he raises and we ended up capping again!!! After it's capped on the river he proudly flipped up :4c: :4d:  -

I realize this is a wonderful table and I'm not so sad now that there isn't a NL game going.. I won a few more hands during that orbit and I was up over $200 in less than an orbit. Ranna came over about 30 minutes later and joined the table. We played for the next few hours and pocketed some decent cash.

Well, this post was too long also. I have to get to a meeting now, so I'll finish it up with part three about NL cash games!

Just a little comment on Sams town, not hijacking your thread.....

I was at Sams town a couple years ago for a softball convention. Because of comps I dont think I paid for one meal the whole time we were there.

After our daily meetings were over some guys got me hooked on a game called PaiGow Poker. This game was insane. I was not there to make money gambling just to have a ton of fun with my buddies. I would sit down at the table with 25 dollars, play for four, five, six hours, on the original 25 dollars. Free drinks the whole time mind you. By the time we were ready to leave the table they would comp us a buffet.

WHAT A BARGIN!!!!!!!!

Sams town had some nice tourneys going as well. Also when we were there last time on Sunday afternoon, I think at about 3:00, they started a splash the pot promotion. They said they do it every Sunday. They add $50.00 to every pot at the top of each hour. We were only there long enough to get in on one of them and Biggle won it. :upset: :)

As for the comps they give you double comps for the first month when you get the card, at least that is what the girl told me when I signed up. So play a bunch of poker and you won't have to pay for any meals while you are there. The steaks they have in the restaurant upstairs were awesome, Also the breakfast buffet was really good.
