You put the ace up your sleeve, and took out the K you had put there before?
LOL.

Sorry, A4 vs A3...I got to start taking notes during the game to try and remember some of this stuff. I don't have the super human recall like most you players!!
Cheers!

Dude, do not start taking notes. Snickers is the only cool person on the planet who takes notes. In fact, he may be the only person who takes notes at the poker table. I have been berated in my own house for it. Just make some shit up and make sure you don't contradict yourself.

In the end it's all based on a true story in the end anyhow unless you are showing a video.

Ahh I have a new and effective note-taking system. I make up names for random people and mnemonics for all their stupid plays. It works surprisingly well. I should have thought of it sooner. Example, fat guy wearing a jumper with nebraska written on it. I call him Nebraska. I remember all his plays! Whereas in the past I only remember and know the game of the regulars at the table. I remember when Nebraska led out after raising to 3.5, 12 and 7 times the BB. Even though it was probably his first time there. I remember when he folded to my min-raise push over his flop bet after he reraised preflop. I remember my hand, 67o, diamonds and hearts. Flop was Q45. I was in the cutoff. See, it's ridiculous. Whereas I have an absolutely terrible memory, if I make up stupid names for things and make each hand unique somehow they all come flooding back when I remember the players mnemonics.

It sounds dumb, but it works. Try that instead of notes. Notetaking is a big tell, it's really easy to get a good read from that.

That's actually a great idea. Goofy images work great for someone, like me, who is very visual. My kids are home schooled and when they need to memorize something I love helping them make up goofy images to do it.

Once I read a memory book with several tricks and won $10 from my dad and brothers when I memorized a list of 10 items after having the list recited to me once and recalling several items by number. It's odd how your can trick your brain into remembering things like this. I often forget my own home phone number but I can always remember my parents' because I used a technique from the book.

Good stuff Ugi and Eruu. I have also read where associating things with other things helps you remember. Small example...GF likes the Nachos Supreme at Taco Bell and I can never remember if she gets the Supreme or Grande (or whatever it is) and I'd have to ask every time. So, I know she likes Oldies (which is why she dates me...because I'm an oldie! Hee hee). So I remember she likes Nacho Supreme because of the group The Supremes. Eh, it works.

I think Ugi's trick might work for me remembering mannerisms, but not actual hands enough so that I could write about them later.

Yeah. I like to identify something about the hand which will help me later (+EV) but also help me remember it. So to take good old nebraska for example, he played a hand where he watched tv while he raised, it was a raise to $25, and I remember thinking, he thought about that way too much. To move the chips without looking. Because I focused on how he did that, I can remember the rest of the hand fine.

If there really is nothing unique that ties a hand to something one of your targets is doing, then perhaps it isn't worth remembering after all.
