Here is Day Three (Sunday) of my November 2007 trip to Niagara Falls. Day One is here[/url:1r99rtll], Day Two is here[/url:1r99rtll].
One thing I forgot to mention at the end of Day Two. As usual, I go to Morrie's to get my fried chicken wrap and I'm pissed about losing with KK twice and AA once (the only time I had AA). As Johnny mentioned in another thread, it was Tribal Culture weekend at Seneca. In the hotel lobby, they're having an Indian dance demo thing going. Drums, Indians in full Indian gear, Indians dancing, crowds forming. It's not a big area and I say excuse me about 1,200 times as I try to make my way around the crowd. I finally get into Morrie's (all this is going on right in front of Morrie's) and go to the cooler to get my wrap. I search for the fucking biggest wrap I can find and I find a whopper. This thing was so stuffed, the food barely fit inside the wrap. As a matter of fact, when I get to the hotel and open it up, one end isn't even closed...that's how stuffed it was. This makes me happy. Of course, with the drums echoing off the fine marble, it's hard to hear anything in there. I pay for my wrap and say excuse me 1,265 as I pass by the crowd on the way out. So the usual...didn't sleep well...tapped the snooze a bunch of times...dragged myself out of bed. Mainly because of my loss yesterday, I don't really feel like playing. But this is not a good attitude to have. If I were to stop playing every time I had a bad session, I would have stopped playing poker like 3 years ago. Shit happens, you can't win every time, blah blah blah. So I shower, poop, pack, check out, and head for Dunkin Donuts. I get to the poker room, having called from the DD and again getting a favorable response to my new call in name Crosby, and I don't see Labatts. I'm not sure of his schedule and didn't know if I would see him today or not. Apparently, I just missed someone getting thrown out of the poker room. He was outside the room with some security people pleading his case. As I'm waiting my turn at the desk to check in, I hear the woman at the counter say that this guy was saying fuck this and fuck that. I never find out the whole story although later someone said the guy was sitting at a poker table when security came up to him. I don't know. I should have asked more questions. They have one table each of 1/2 100 max and 200 max, and they just opened a 2/4 Limit table. I think about playing Limit while waiting, but don't, For the second trip in a row, I don't play any Limit. Then my name is called for 1/2...it's 11:10. As I sit down, I have no idea that this would be my swingiest day of live poker ever. I'm in seat one. Early on, guy in seat 3 raises, someone calls (I'm not involved in this hand). Flop has something like 2 queens, original raiser sighs, checks, the other guy bets out, original raiser sighs, fidgets, sighs. OK, we all know. You have a monster. Worse acting job ever. Finally 'just calls'. Same thing on turn. Personally, if I was the other guy, I'd be done with the hand on the flop after that acting job unless I flopped a FH. But the guy bets out again and we go thru the whole acting job again before a call from the original raiser. On the river, the raiser bets out. I forget what happens, but after the hand, the other guy in the hand mentions that he noticed the raiser sighing and having that 'I guess I'll call' attitude and he knew he had a big hand. O-M-F-G!!!!! If you have a HUGE tell on someone, WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU TELL HIM??!?!?!?!?! And then he says something like "you should watch that". Fuck, you did not just say that. I was pissed. Asshole. 11:45, nothing clicking yet, I add $20. Guy in seat 10 often raises to 6. He's done it so many times, nobody respects it. I didn't keep track, but I'm sure he lost more than he won by doing this. He had a huge stack thou at one point, so maybe I was wrong. Someone at the table thinks he had around $600 at one point. He lost it all. I call some of these raises, but hit nothing. Finally, AA. I raise to 7 UTG. Bunch of callers though. Flop K-Q-3 w/2 diamonds. A little afraid of the K-Q and the 2 diamonds, I bet out 20, one caller, and a guy goes all in for his last 18. Blank on turn and rereading my notes, I probably shouldn't have done this but I go all in for $63. Now that I think about it, she's probably only going to call if I'm beat. She calls, I get no help on the river, and she flips up...wait for it...wait for it...K3o for the flopped two pair. Are you fucking kidding me? You call a raise from UTG with that? Then she says something like the guy behind her was the one that raised, so she called the raise. Uh, no, I correct her...I was the one that raised. You cold called $7 with that hand. Fucking bitch. So I rebuy. This table could be good. But it's hard to get many people to fold preflop. Raises of 10-12-15 are all met with multiple callers. Which could be good, but you know you want as few people as possible when you have a big hand. I have to add another 20 as I'm not getting anything and (with about $100 on the table) I'm in for a total of $240 already. I am still ticked about the AA hand, still ticked about yesterday and ticked that I might have to leave early because I'm running out of money for the day. I get AK. I don't have complete notes for this hand, so I don't know what position I'm in. But I raise and, of course, get a bunch of callers. Flop is K-8-x. There's a bet of 15 and a call in front of me, and I raise to 50. All fold to the original bettor, my bet puts him all in and he calls. Other guy folds. Blanks on the turn and river and he flips up K-8 for two pair. Then it happens. For the first time ever, I slide back in my chair and say, pretty loud, "you fucking have to be fucking KIDDING me!". Immediately, I realize what I did. I'm VERY quiet at the table and try not to get upset at all. But after yesterday's big hands losing and now today being the same thing, I lost it. Since I'm in seat one, the dealer turns to me and tells me to watch the language. Even before she finishes, I'm apologizing. It's funny now, but I was sooooo pissed. I wish one of you guys were there to better describe it. I wonder how loud I was. I try to calm down and get back to playing. Apparently, I must have won some hands because I still have $65 in front of me and am wondering if I should rebuy or just leave. A few hands later, I'm sure everybody can see I'm steaming and pissed. I get AA. Fucking great. Now what's going to happen? Fucking poker gods fucking with me and now they're going to laugh as I lose the last of my monies with AA. Again, lack of notes because I'm pissed at everything and not taking notes, but we get it all in preflop. So, what...let me guess...you have 8-2o and you're going to flop a full house? Oh no..wait...8 on the flop, 2 on the river. Yeah. Or runner runner flush. I can hardly wait to see how I'm going to lose this hand. Oh, he flips up AKs. Hmm. I might actually win. Of course, I envision him getting a flush. Sorry...no idea what the board was, but I do indeed double up. Thank God. And yes I know I missed out on monies because I was short. I'm still getting cards...AKs...are the poker gods trying to make it up to me? I'm in EP, raise to 10, 2 callers, nothing on flop so I give up. It's checked to the turn where someone bets 25 and takes it. Again, forget exact details because I'm not in the mood to take notes, but AA again. Someone raises to 10 and there's a caller. I raise to 25 total, both call. Flop is Q-x-x with two hearts and it's checked to me. I bet 25, original raiser folds, other guy goes all in for, well, alot. He has me covered and I have like $95 after my $25 bet. This is the guy who probably had $600 in front of him earlier. I couldn't really see since he is in seat 10 and I'm in 1, so the dealer is in the way. But he's been on tilt, nobody respects his stupid little $6 raises anymore, and he's losing money. What could he have? The way he's been playing, I don't think he has QQ because I'm pretty sure he would have re-raised preflop...either the original raise or my re-raise. Flush draw? Possible. Trying to get me off my hand? A set? Always possible, but that's such a huge bet. Why would he go all-in if he had a set or two pair? Fuck it. I'm going to call because I can't put him on a hand that beats me and if I lose, I'm going home. I call and he flips over Q-10 for top pair. No flush draw. I just have to dodge a Q or a Ten and I'm good. I hold up through the turn and river and take a massive pot. There was a bit of controversy as the guy (who is really on tilt now) can't believe I have about 95 after my 25 bet. The dealer says, kinda sternly, the pot's correct. I really can't hear what the guy is saying because the dealer is in my way, but apparently he questions it again. The dealer, who is getting a little pissy, says it's correct because I bet 25 and then he went all in. While I was thinking, the dealer took my 25 and his 25 and threw it in the pot. So the pot's correct and you owe him what he has left in front of him, which is $95. Another player backs up the dealer, but the dealer even grissles at this and says something along the lines of "I know I'm right, but thanks". The guy counts out the money and it's shipped to me. I now have $280 in front of me and am actually up on the day after buying in for a total of $240. Not too long after this hand, he busts and leaves. New guy in seat 10 straddles and I look down to find KK. Damn. I'm getting some cards this whole weekend and know that if a few of those hands go the other way, I'd be making a killing. Just like yesterday, I try to get tricky and just call the $4 hoping for a raise behind me and/or hoping straddle boy raises. Neither happen and there's a couple of us to the flop. Dang, Snicks...stop trying to be tricky at 1/2. It's not needed. Flop is 7-8-9 with 2 clubs. A lady in one of the blinds bets 6, straddle guy calls, I raise to 18, blinds lady calls (leaving her with one $5 chip), straddle guy folds. Blank on the turn, she checks, I put her all in, she says something like "fine...you want all my money...here you go". WTF? What am I supposed to do..check it down? Nothing on the river, I flip my kings, she mucks and rebuys. I create more controversy. Two red jacks UTG. I know I'm supposed to raise, but don't. There's a couple of limpers and the flop is 3-4-5 with two diamonds. It's checked to me and I bet ~8. Two call and the turn brings a nice fat jack. I bet 20 and straddle guy is the only caller. The river is the king of clubs, he checks. I lean to the dealer and ask "he checked?". Dealer says yes and at the same time straddle guy says sevens and flips up pocket sevens. I'm shocked and the dealer says I haven't acted yet. Straddle guy says he clearly heard me say 'check' and 'you want all my money' lady next to him says the same. Nope, dealer says...he asked if you checked. I'm not sure what to do. Obviously, the hand is mine. What would you do? Of course, I was going to bet anyway. I'm still stunned and bet just $10. He says something like "yeah..of course" and throws in the 10. Last hand I played ended up AQ vs AK vs 99...me with the AQ and I manage to not lose a lot of money on a flop with an ace (AK didn't raise preflop...then again, neither did I), although we did get a side pot going. AK took the side pot, 99 made a FH and took the main pot. It's right around this time I decide to stop. It's 3:00 and I have around $290 in front of me. I was over $300 before the AQ hand. With the day I had, I think I'm just going to take my $50 profit and leave. Grand total for the trip...12 and a half hours of poker, +$99. This is the shortest amount of time I spent playing poker on one of these weekends since I started doing them almost 2 years ago. I usually spend around 24 hours, but actually only spent 15 when I went last August. It may be because before I was playing Limit where you can play for a loooong time with a smaller bankroll, especially when you're tight like me. Friday was a blast, Saturday sucked, and Sunday started out sucking but turned out ok. I don't know how much more I would have had if just half those beats over the weekend go my way. By the way, a lot of people were talking about the Pats/Bills game coming up that night. Pats favored by like 18 points. Most people there seem to think the Bills will lose, but cover. Later, when I'm home, I flip on the TV and turn to the game. It's almost over and the Pats are winning 56-10. Damn. So another Niagara Weekend in the books. As I mentioned, we are planning on doing this again in the Spring, only on the Canadian side at Fallsview (a beautiful casino). Start saving your poker bankroll now! Meeting up with forum members is always a good time. |

Thanks for the compliments, Term and Mike...I enjoy writing them. I usually print them out and save them as my little poker diary. Fun to read the ones from TP when I was playing Limit. |

Excellent report. I almost don't need to go to casinos. I can now live precariously through you guys. I know for a fact my stories wouldn't measure up. What the point? I've been looking for a good signature... May I?
