Nice teaser post! We went to bed last night and thought it would be a pain in the ass to get up and check out with all those people in the hotel then cross the border on a Sunday afternoon so we got out of bed, packed, and drove home in the wee small hours of the morning. Since our room was above a lower roof covered in HVAC equipment, right across from the garage with people singing and yelling and stuff, and the hallway was noisy as hell too I don't think we missed much sleep. I was rewarded with a very strange object flying in from the woods on the median of the highway and nearly coming through my windshield, leaving a smashed circle a bit smaller than a hockey puck with cracks radiating off of it. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to count the $600 or so required to replace it against my poker bankroll since it was a poker trip.

Scared the living shit out of us.

I lost two bills Friday night, bet another 2 bills Saturday night and kicked ass (thank you Calgary). And yes, both those bills would be dollar bills.

Puck's the fucking man. Why didn't we make him pay for dinner?

Johnny...I saw what appeared to be a turkey or something (no lie) in the middle of the road while driving home today. I wonder if that's what you hit? Whatever it was, it was pretty fucking big. I too thought I would be screwed leaving around noonish (had to wait for the sports book to open to cash my winning ticket) on a Sunday, but it only took about 10 minutes to cross. They had a lot of lanes open.

I unfortunately decided to hit Seneca on the way home and lost $91. Won two hands in like 4 hours, missed tons of draws, etc, blah blah blah. Pissed me off.

I took NO notes, so do not expect detailed TRs from me. Good times despite the bad poker rooms...see you guys in the Fall.

Where did you see the turkey? I would expect some kind of blood or something on the car if it was a living thing. This is a perfectly shaped circle and the impact was flush - not like one point then it radiated. I thought it was a rock but only saw it for a split second as it flew across the windshield. There wasn't another car or anything around for miles. We were freaked out. I thought maybe someone was hurling rocks from the side of the road trying to get a car to stop so they could carjack it. There was absolutely nothing going on to explain it.

I'll cover craps. Johnny decides at the end of Saturday's festivities to hit the craps table. I had a nice win, so I decide to join him. I've always heard that you're supposed to be the pass line (shooter will win), and doing otherwise is antisocial. I catch Johnny putting $10 on the no pass. I tell Johnny "Don't tell me your THAT dick, betting on the no pass line." Johnny tells me this is a winning play when you don't know the shooter. So Puck, like a moron, insists on taking the pass line, and the shooter doesn't make his point. Johnny +10, Puck -10.

Well, this can't happen again to me. Johnny no pass, Puck pass. Shooter can't make his point. Johnny +20, Puck -20 FTW. Now, Johnny has my attention. So I decide that it will be more profitable for me to become THAT dick myself. I put $20 on the no pass, and Johnny told me to have extra money for odds betting, so I take $10 off before the shooter rolls. Shooter throws a 7, fuck me. Johnny tells me I'm welcome for saving me $10 .

I take my last $10 (I only budgeted $40 for this event) and put it on no pass (like Johnny) and win. I let the $20 ride on no pass and win again. I leave $20 and win again. Johnny + 17,275 , Puck + 20. I need $10 to cover the cost of the delicious dinner we just had at Montana's, so I put $10 on the no pass. Shooter doesn't make his point, Puck up $30 for a half-hour's work. Thanks Johnny!!!

The craps table was a lot of fun. There was room for Puck and I next to each other to the immediate right of the stick man. The dice were in the hands of the guy just on the other side of the stick man, so I was going to have to wait a full revolution before I got to throw, which may have been good because some places will pass you up until you've sat in a full revolution anyway.

The other end of the table was full, and there were people coming and going at our end but it was pretty full too. I put a small bet on the Don't Pass line and watched the table. Puck bet the Pass line. The guy rolls a number, maybe a 4? Not sure.. but I didn't put down odds as I was just going to bide my time until I got the dice and I didn't want to rebuy. He's whinging the dice down the table and they bounce all over and he sevens out pretty fast.

Same with the next guy.

The next guy is setting the dice and Puck and I take note of that. My bet was placed on the don't pass line before he set them though which is good because I haven't seen him actually throw yet. This is where Puck comes over to the dark side with me. The shooter sets the dice but instead of tossing them lightly to the back wall on axis he makes a circular motion on the felt with them giving him zero chance of hitting the back wall flush and flings them pretty hard. Ha... Don't Pass FTW. He establishes a number, 6 or something, then 7s out.

The next guy was his buddy and things went exactly the same, including the setting and circular motion before the throw. The problem with this guy was that only one dice barely made the back wall. He was going to throw weak. I figured there was a good chance that if he hit his number the throw would be called off because he didn't throw them hard enough, but still I didn't take odds because he had an easier number to make, a 6 or an 8. He tosses his second throw and they come up short, as predicted, and the stick man says "Whoa, what was that?" as they are in the air. They come up a losing 7, however, so they let the throw stand. Had he made his number they surely would have voided the throw.

The next guy is shaking the dice in his hand like he's playing monopoly and he establishes a difficult number... a 4 or a 10 I think. I take odds against him and he sevens out quickly. At this point everyone but me and Puck are losing quite a bit.

The dice come to our side and one guy throws... can't remember much here. He sevens out. No one has hit a number yet.

The next guy throws for a long time. He keeps hitting a six, his number is eight. He does have a minimum bet on the sixes though. He hits them like 6 ot 7 times then finally pushes his bet a little. He may have hit them one more time then he sevens out. That was it for Puck and I stick around to throw, but I make more betting against the next two shooters. The guy before me hits his 9 for the first point made and I lose my Don't Pass bet. I don't put down another. I count my chips and think, well, I've paid for dinner for me and Spammy and our lunch plus some, I think I'll just color up and not throw. I didn't want to be an extreme dick... betting against the whole table then betting hard on myself when I threw, looking like a dickhead setting the dice and delicately tossing them against the very bottom of the back wall and probably losing right away haha... so I took my gains and left at that point.
