I'll just latch onto Johnny's thread and post my report here...hope that's ok....and Johnny, let me know if I get anything wrong. I tend not to remember conversations too well!
This trip report will be short and not up to the usual Snickers TR standards because, well, it was not a fun night and I barely took notes. Which is usual for me. No fun = no notes. (Edit...turned out longer than I thought because I spend most of the report bitching about stuff!) So Johnny and I have been trying to meet up at Mountaineer for a night of donk bashing poker fun. We were going to go last Saturday, but the weather wasn't supposed to be very good...freezing rain. So we postponed the trip to yesterday. I aim to be there around 4Pm. I have to leave the poker room around 10:30 as they are closing a major road in Pittsburgh at Midnight and even thou it's Midnight, traffic will get backed up and I don't feel like sitting in traffic. I leave my house around 2:15, stop to get gas, and stop at Taco Bell to get lunch. Add your own 'gas' joke here. The trip down is nothing special and I pull up to the poker room just before 4. First things first, I gotta poop. Before you blame the Taco Bell, I was working on this one before lunch. I'm hoping the stall is empty this time (and the toilet not clogged) and I'm successful on both counts. A quick, clean job and I'm off to the front desk. As I'm walking to the desk, I try to look for Johnny but there's 37 tables and it's pretty busy. I don't see him and think about calling him on his cell phone to let him know I'm here. (Later, it looks like just about every table is going.) I get to the desk and ask about 1/2NL. I'm told there's seats available and go see the floor guy that has his hand up. They seem more organized than last time. I find my floor guy and he takes me to a table. I put my Player's card in the open seat and go get chips. As I'm walking to the cage, I hear someone shout my name. It's Johnny! I'm two tables behind him. We chat for a few seconds and I get my chips. This turns out to be the highlight of the trip. Last time, I complained about them not filling seats quickly...opening new tables when we were sitting with three open seats. They seemed to have fixed this as any open seat was quickly filled. The one downside...every 10 minutes, they would announce for the dealers to please update their Bravo system. I assume this is the little computer in front of the dealer that tracks open seats. Annoying to hear this message 326 times an hour. It's 4:05 as I sit down with $200 (min/max is 75/300). I have another $200 in my pocket. I scan the table...the usual people. I'm in seat 4. Guy in seat one has like $600 in front of him. I'll have to watch for him...but I quickly learn he's a luckbox and I'm hoping to get his chips. One or two other guys have over $400 and I think about adding another $100 to my stack, but don't. Fucking 55 minutes later, I see my first flop. Yep, card dead and when I'm in the BB, someone always raises. It's AK, ace on flop, I take it on the turn. That would pretty much be it for another hour or so. 6:05 and I think I literally played 4 hands. Hey, that happens, but it's frustrating as hell. I'm down $2. There are two or three guys here I can beat, but just can't get the cards. The table isn't wild or anything. Basic table. Another AK, UTG+1...UTG limps, I raise to $10, four callers. Flop K-x-x with two diamonds (I have none). Checked to me, I bet $20, two callers. My inside-the-head chant of "no diamond" goes unanswered as the turn is the 3 of diamonds. Checked to me, so let's find out if someone got their flush...I bet $20 again. One caller. Nothing on the river, I'm first to act and bet $30. Guy thinks about it, looks like he doesn't want to call, then finally throws in his chips. I flip up my AK, he looks all excited and flips up....AK for the split. I guess he thought he was beat and was excited it was a split pot. Couple hands later, two black queens in the SB. Four limpers, I raise to $20, BB is the only caller. Flop is 5-6-J rainbow, I bet $25, he folds. This guy was an ass. Ordering cans of beer and pouring the beer into a cup of ice. I think he had 5 or 6 while I was there. Drunken poker players are a good thing. But it got annoying because he wasn't following the action. "WHAT!! Is it my turn? How much? What's going on?" OMFG, pay attention to the game. The whole table started losing focus and the dealers weren't getting people back in line. It's taking forever to play one hand. Everybody's talking about the cocktail waitress with the fake French accent. Meanwhile, the other cocktail waitress in our area was VERY nice. Not super hot, just a real woman. I don't know...don't know how to explain it, but I think you know what I mean. Cute, super nice, etc. The guy next to me would let out this low moan every time she walked by. OK, that was bad enough, but when he started rubbing my leg, I had to say something. Oh, and the annoying BB drunk on watered down beer guy said a couple times that you can't be tight...you have to play crap cards in order to win here. Of course, I watched him burn through $200 and add another $200 while I was there. I lose too much money on KQs when I called a river bet I should have never called. Thinking I might be good with a pair of queens (I was chasing the flush), I called a $50 bet on the river from the luckbox-I-now-have-over-1K-in-front-of-me-but-I-suck guy (who at one point almost got a punch in the face from me when he jokingly complained he was running out of room to stack his chips...WTF? Don't say stuff like that at the table) when there's two people to act behind me. When they both call, I know I'm no good and actually have the fourth best hand. Good thing the flush never came as someone had Axs, was also chasing and backed into a straight...and still lost. It's 7:15 and I add another $100. I get up and check on Johnny a couple times and he does the same to me. He's doing better than me...he's up, not much, but he's up. Now it's 8:45, I'm down $200 and have $100 in front of me. I don't want to add my last $100. So I decide to pack it in. I cash out and check with Johnny. Give him a few minutes and he'll come over to chat. Cool. While I'm waiting, I try to remember some more hands. Got AA either in the blinds or on the button. Lots of limpers, I make it $20, they all fold. I'm shocked when the dealer rakes $1 before shipping me the pot. I ask if they rake when there's no flop...yes, if the pot is over $10. What? Never heard that before. He apologizes and says he doesn't agree with it. That sucks. Later, AA again. I think I'm UTG. Raise to $10, BB is the only caller. Flop comes 6-x-x, all low cards. He checks, I bet like $20 (probably), he calls. Turn is a 7...scary card because the board's getting straighty. He checks, I check. Blank on the river, he checks. I'm thinking I'm good. Surely he wouldn't check twice with a straight. I bet $50. He calls and flips up 67o for two pair. OMFG. You called a preflop raise from someone UTG who's played 2 hands in the past 37 hours, and then call a $20 bet with what probably was second pair on the board? I shouldn't have made the river bet. He's only calling if he has me beat. This is a leak of mine and I need to pay more attention to it. Another hand...flopped a flush and I think I had an open-ended straight flush draw with 35s from LP. I think there's four of us in the pot. There's a bet in front of me, a call, and I just call. Nothing good for me on the turn, guy who bet the flop checks, next guy bets $10, I raise to $20, guy who bets $10 is the only caller. Of course, the river is another spade, I miss my straight flush and suddenly, basically, all I have is a five high flush. He checks, I disgustingly check and throw my cards up. He has 10-4s and takes it. I needed the 9 of spades, but that would have actually given him a higher straight flush. That would have sucked more. But that was my night. Chasing the k-high flush when someone was chasing the a-high flush, chasing a straight flush that would have given someone else a higher one, etc. There was another hand where I flopped the nut-flush draw and was betting at it on the flop and turn, and missed. As I mentioned, there were beatable guys at this table. Just one of those nights. I look over at luckbox who has probably 1,200 in front of him and shake my head. How bad was this guy? One hand, someone else gets it all in against him on the flop. They flip up their cards. Guy has A8 for two pair, luckbox has a pair of sevens. That's it. Third pair at best. And spikes a 7 on the river. Drunken guy next to me gets quads...twice. Guy in the possible straight flush hand has over $500 and plays like crap. Guy to my right who cracked my aces actually has the gall to tell me in the possible straight flush hand that that's the risk of playing rags. WHAT?? You played 67o against my aces, cold calling a preflop raise!! And the very next hand after he said that, he played something like 79o. And what about the winner of the possible straight flush hand playing 10-4s from EP? I felt another f-bomb coming from me, so I thought it best to leave. Sorry...this is turning into a rant. So, I'm on the rail waiting for Johnny and I check to see what my players card gets me. The lady who does the cards (who doesn't really work in the poker room...she's just there to issue players cards) doesn't know what you get per hour of live play, but she does know that for every 400 points, you get $1 in food credit. I have her scan my card...I have $2.25 in food credits! I'm down $140 in three trips to Mountaineer, but I get 2.25 of that back! Actually, since I just left my table, it might not include that day's time yet. Johnny comes over and we chat for a few minutes. He thinks the players here are too good. His table's tough and he hears people think Wheeling is softer. I think he should switch tables because, while my table wasn't as soft as Niagara, it seemed beatable if you can wait it out. We talk about maybe going to Wheeling next time, but that's another hour away from Johnny (both Mountaineer and Wheeling are about 70 minutes away from me). I think my next couple of trips will be to Wheeling as I was only there once and I want to see what it's like over a couple trips. Problem with Wheeling is, there's only 20 tables and I think there's almost always a waiting list. We chat about the Libby tournament, how we're looking forward to playing HORSE, and a couple other things. Johnny goes back to his table, I grab a soft pretzel at the snack bar, and head home.

Awesome trip report!
BTW, the fake French waitress...we had two or three dealers admit she's a fake. She's not from France or Germany. Also, she apparently rakes in the bucks with the fake French thing.

Johnny very good report. I was to your left, and I had many of the same observations. I enjoyed our conversation. I am having trouble finding the realtime software that you spoke of. I need some guidance please.
