I went to buy some cigars last week and they had a notice up that they were having a cigar and beer tasting with a Hold Em Tourney. Sign me up! So I went there tonight. Really nice guys there - met a few. It was close to work though so I was playing against a few of my own customers which felt weird.

We got a SitNGo going. 1K in chips, blinds start at 10/20 and go up every 2 rounds. One guy kept catching cards and built up a huge stack, but I only saw him fold a few hands all night and he was bleeding some too. My first hand played I'm 45s on the button and I call with 3 limpers, blinds complete. 2 to the flush on the flop. Someone minbets and most people call. Turn is black, limp, a couple more guys drop off and 2 of us call. River is my flush. I bet 1/2 the pot, folds, BB minraises and I call. He rivered 2 pair. I have some chips to work with now.

Next hand in I have A7 in the BB. Flop comes 77J. I make a small bet and one of the limpers calls. Turn is a Q. I bet and he calls. River is a Q I bet and he minraises and I call... he has Q8. Next hand I get AJ and raise 3x a blind. 2 guys call. I don't quite remember how it played out but he won with J5s and I'm low on chips.

The rest is pretty standard stuff. Guys start dropping out. Lots of players seeing the flops. I get AK in the BB and raise 4x. 1 guy, your average passive call station, calls. Flop comes AKK, too strong and it scares him off after I make a small bet on the turn.

We work our way down to 3 handed and I push 10bbs with 88 on the button. SB folds, BB folds AQs face up. They play it out anyway, flop would have made my set with an A on the river.

A few hands later I push again and the same guys calls. I say "It must be better than AQ!" and he flips AQ. I can't remember what I had, I can't remember much of anything - it's really late and I'm rather drunky the clown - but I double up.

I had accumulated more than 1/2 the chips in play and I folded a few and let the other 2 duke it out. The payout structure was "winner take all" and then the made it that 2nd place gets his buy in back. One guy busted to the other while chasing a flush draw. The other guy and 47o and raised the flush chaser all in with his pair of 4s. As luck would have it, I would have actually made the flush on the river that hand if I would have been insane enough to play my 25s.

Now I'm heads up with the guy who was playing all but a few hands and calling down everyone. He switched his game up for the heads-up and folded the 400/800 blinds for several hands until he blinded out. gg me, I win, tidy profit and drunk.

Sorry this report sucks. I'm going to go pass out now.
