Re: Jasper Trip report
A few more details on the trip. We left about 11:00AM and the traffic was horrible, I am glad one of the other guys volunteered to drive this time. It normally takes about 2.5 hours but with the construction on I-75 and the traffic it took about 3.5 hours. There are plenty of tables available when we get there. So all three of us get seated immediately, at different tables which is good. We had a real clash of personalities at my table. There was this really skinny old lady at our table who looked kind of rough, sitting next to a big blond lady, the one I mentioned in the opening thread. The blond lady is constantly talking, as is the old guy sitting on my right. He is the husband of the lady who called before I mentioned how much I would raise. I didn't mind their talking, but they would hold up the game sometimes when it was their turn. Not so much the blond but the old guy. At one point the skinny old lady ask the big blond if she is ever going to be quite and play, and the big blond ask her if she is ever going to quit being a bitch. :) The big blond had her out weighed by about 200 lbs I imagine, so the old lady got quite after that.
A few hands I remember. I mentioned in the other thread how the old lady with teh huge chip stack was very passive, and she took some big pots off me. Probably the biggest pot I won other than the one I talked about above, was with AA. I raise to 10 I think and I get two callers. The flop is AKx. all clubs. :upset: I have position, it is checked to me and I bet out for 25 or so. The talkative old guy calls. The turn is another K. The old guy goes all-in for about 15 or 20 more and I call. :D
I made one good lay down, I had AK on the button I raise to 10, and I get one caller the BB. He was a passive calling station as well, but would get aggressive at times. The flop is Txx. He checks and I C-bet 15. He calls. The turn is a K and I think yes!!!. So I bet out for 30, he agonizes for a few minutes and then goes all-in. He had me covered I had about 70 more. I laid it down after much sole searching and he showed me KT.
I guess about 6:30 this table breaks up and I have about $200 in chips. I am stuck for about 140 at this point. I get moved to another table. Since I moved from another table they let me sit without posting and I am UTG. I fold, then the very next hand in the BB I get 99. There are a few limpers and I make it 10 to go. I get one caller. The flop is 467, I figure my 99 is good and I bet out for 20, villain calls. The turn is a 5, I bet out for 30 and he goes all-in. He almost had me covered, it's 40 ,ore and I decided to call, he was bluffing with KQ, so I almost double up. I never went down on this table. I can't remember any big pots I lost, only small ones. Another big pot was when I have 7:club: 8:club: on the button. I call, two or three see the flop. The flop is 7xx where the xxs are both [s:qvjieito]spades[/s:qvjieito] clubs. The 7 was middle pair, no face cards. It's checked around to me and I bet 10. Get one caller. Villain is a black guy that looks like [s:qvjieito]Charles[/s:qvjieito] Bob Marley. He has been pretty tight but when he does decide to play he doesn't like to give it up. The turn is another rag and I make it 20 and he min raises me 20 more. I call. I hit my flush on the river, he checks and I bet 50 which puts him all-in. He whines for about 5 minutes and finally calls. I don't know what he had, he mucked but I won another nice pot.
The two guys with me both lost a small amount. Rob who is a pretty solid tight player was up about 400 when I spoke to him at 7:00, when we left at 9:00 he was down about 20. Weldon said he lost about 70, so I was the only winner. We all had a good time though.
[Edit] I was just looking over this and who the hell is Charles Marley? [/edit]
