Default Eruu swims with the sharks - shorthanded home game.

We planned the regular game this week and I wasn't sure who would show up. I called everyone instead of just sending a text message because there was another game that some of us could go to if we didn't have enough. I got 3 "definitelys" and 6 "I'll be there laters". I end up with 4 players including me.

I'm sitting there with Juan, Jerry and Ernie. My nephew came over because I promised to stake him but no one ever showed up so he had to play Halo with the kids. I wasn't about to spend my money to throw him in with the sharks. I start off rested and drinking coffee instead of booze and I quickly get up to about $350 from my $100 buy in.

I get my first glass of wine and Ernie immediately sucks out to bust me when he calls my two pair push with a flush draw. I reload and bust again in a similar suck out (I think it was Ernie again).

I start thinking it's going to be a bad night when I'm down $300 and I put another $200 on the table. Then I start drinking [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_car_bomb:38hek60x]Irish car bombs[/url:38hek60x] ( I need help with this url feature)

Anyhow, I got belligerent drunk and caught a monster rush of cards at the same time. By midnight I had them so gun shy that even my bluffs were working.

I finally staked Realpoo (left the R off on purpose) $200 and won most of that that back from him myself. I busted Ernie and he left a little unhappy since he is used to winning.

One interesting hand before I go. . . I raise 56o to $8 from Button. Juan calls, Ernie calls. Flop comes 789 rainbow. Ernie checks, Juan bets $15, I call and Ernie calls.

Pot is now something like $70 and the turn is a Jack. Ernie bets $50, Juan calls and I push. Ernie is short and he calls, Juan goes into the tank for about 5 mins and calls. I think I'm crushed. We turn them over and Ernie has set of jacks, Juan has a flush draw, and I'm amazed to see that my ass end of the straight is ahead at the moment. We talk a while to build the drama and I ask if I can peak at the river before I show it. Instead I show it to them without looking and I know in about 1/64th of a second that I'm beat when I see Juan's eyes.

Goodbye $800 pot.

I'll try to remember some hands later but I've put together another game tonight and I need a nap before it starts. My final profit from last night was $890. Subtract the money that I staked RP and I'm still up $690.
