Company Xmas party last night. For a while it looked like it would interfere with the home game but we played last year some afterwards at my house and offered to buy all of the girls who played into a $50 freeze out. Then I called my poker buddies who weren't attending the party (most work with me or for me) and told them that I'd be using the money that I'd won from them to buy the girls into the tournament. I got double benefits from this because the girls viewed it as a gift to them and the poker players viewed it as a gift to them since girls suck at poker (they all outlasted me :lol: ).

I told the whole gang that my door was never locked and that I expected a game to be going when I got home around 11pm. No one was there but my kids and 16 yr old nephew. Of course I'd left the party just as the tequila came out and I didn't mind that the other players stayed a while. They finally showed up and for once I was not on the extreme end of relative drunkenness for the room. Lucky for me there were only two girls who wanted to play. My wife had to be at a gymnastics meet this morning with my daughter and she couldn't play either.

Ernie had been at another game before coming over and forgot to bring his table so we started the tournament with 19 people. One table played on regular table and one on poker table. I busted to the eventual winner (Bo) when I loosened up in anticipation of the cash game.

I staked my nephew (poker prodigy) in the tournament and he split second with Realpoor when it chopped 3 way. So I won back what I spent on the girls. RP and Nephew both get smart and pass on the cash game. They go to play Xbox or PS3 with profits intact.

In the cash game I started playing fairly conservative (it's all relative) while trying to cultivate a loose (read retard) image. We played $1/$2 because most of the chips were still in play in the tourney and I kept this up even after the tourney was done.

I push a couple of draws early and suck out on Chad (Eruu's Partner) when I hit almost every one. He's drunk and gets tilty. Then I either bust or double through a couple more solid players who had the best hand and I finally lost all respect. My stack is up and down but never more than a couple hundred until we've been there an hour or so.

Everyone is drunk except Ernie and Bo. I've got 1000X more experience playing drunk than these guys and I'm getting some good reads. For the record, I'm also on a sick run of cards. Everything seemed to be going right.

I did lose some but it was just enough to make them want to keep playing me. Chad will remember some hands better but I'll post my two favorite.

Chad goes Busto: Chad has already borrowed a couple hundred from me for himself and a hundred for Sam (just back from Iraq). I make an over bet with top pair and he calls because I've been bluffing too much. BUSTO!

Then it gets good. He's pissed because I did suck out earlier and now he's made a mistake. He borrows $500 and puts it all on the table. I see my tilty drunk self in his eyes when he puts it all on the table (so that's how a guy can lose so much in one night :idea: ). Like the poker god's had it out for him a couple hands later I get AA and he gets JJ. He raises and I reraise preflop. The flop is 9 high, he bets and I push. He calls and goes home $800 in debt.

Chad is a great guy but he can get pissy. Because of this I love to fuck with him but he was so red faced when he left that I kept my mouth shut because I was afraid that I'd have to go buy new tires if I gave him a hard time.

He'll get over it and I promise I'll fuck with him at work until I get paid off. :laughing:

Ernie goes busto: Chad leaves and takes Sam with him. It's pushing 5 am and my wife comes in to tell us that I'll be having to wake up at 7:30! Fatherly duties etc. NP, I'm a good dad and I can sleep later.

We only have a few more hands and we are 3 handed me, Ernie and Bo. Ironically it's AA again. I am too tired to even be excited but I'm happy and I really want to make a little more before they go. I raise to $15 and Ernie calls.

Flop comes K98. I check and Ernie bets $50. I hope he has a K as I raise $100 more. He calls.

I ask Bo to wait before he rolls the turn and I ask Ernie how much he has. It's around $400 more. I'm thinking that there's plenty money in the pot and that I'll have to call if he pushes the turn so I shove blind. The turn is another ace and I get all comfy. Ernie calls and then teaches me some new cuss words and shows his flopped two pair, 98.

I slept two hours and showed up with my son only ten minutes late to the meet. I forgot the video camera and couldn't make the regular camera work but I think I'll be forgiven. My mom came to see her very beautiful granddaughter and I took them both to lunch after the meet to keep the good karma going.

Chad called and told me that I screwed the hand all up. He can fix it himself if he wants it exactly right but evidently I shoved the turn oop after he called my flop bet.

I'm here to testify...I am up almost$1200 since my Libby donation a little over a week ago, and I only had about $400 when I made the transfer.
