OK, RidgePoker NE Division is set for another Niagara Falls meet up. This one is set for the weekend of April 5th. And to shake things up, we're heading to the Canadian side. We'll be hitting up both Casino Niagara and Fallsview. So far, Johnny, Labatts, Puckhead, and me are in. Who else??!?!? You got two months to plan!!! We had a great time last time, so if you're close by, you should join us!
I'm planning my usual...head up that Friday, leave Sunday.

Can we please refer to this as NADS*? It's been forever since I've been able to refer to something as NADS.
Alright I went to see what was up with the distance between the two casinos and they are a 2km walk apart, which is too far when you factor in the girlfriend. I can stay at either one, but would like to get an idea for which one you guys prefer. Casino Niagara is a lower limits casino. Fallsview is higher limits. I've never played poker at either. I was just getting into poker when we visited Fallsview and there was only one table running and it was $5/$10. I doubt there would be that problem on a weekend though. Labatts, Puck have either of you hit up both of these rooms? Here is some hotel information. The Brock is connected to Casino Niagara. The rate for Friday night is $139.13 US. I stayed here in 2000 and it was a nice place. Here is their deal: Quote:

Here are some thing that we'll be taking a break from poker in order to do. You guys are welcome to come along: http://www.nightmaresfearfactory.com/ Nightmares Fear Factory is across the street from Casino Niagara and sounds wonderfully cheesy and only takes 15 minutes to do. [url=http://www.cliftonhill.com/zoommap/zoommap/zoommap.php?MAP=%2Ftestweb%2Fzoommap%2Fcomponent%2 Fmountain1600x1200.jpg&SMALLMAP=%2Ftestweb%2Fzoomm ap%2Fcomponent%2Fmountain138x103.jpg:2x6p04kf]Clifton Hill[/url:2x6p04kf] http://www.cliftonhill.com/niagara_fall ... it_or_not/ It's next to Casino Niagara and in between the two Casinos. We plan on hitting Ripleys Museum, Ripleys Ride, and the Wax Museum. *Ridge Niagara Adventure Days: Spring

Fine, fine....NADS it is. Jeez.
Anyway, I have only played at Casino Niagara and it was back in my Limit days. The Hampton Inn I used to stay at is too much...right across from Casino Niagara, but closing in on $400 for two nights (with tax, etc). Can't do that. Too many financial issues right now, including the AC trip in March. Did some digging...leaning towards Days Inn Near the Falls (Victoria Ave) or Travelodge (Ferry St). Both would be under $250 for two nights and both seem to be in between the two casinos. And both charge for parking. W....T....F with hotels charging for parking? Argh. I really don't know what to expect as far as which casino either. Suppose I'm up for either as long as I can afford 1/2 NL. I will probably skip the Clifton Hills stuff...unless we all go out for a nice dinner. Some good places up there.

There are dozens of hotels to pick from . Stayed at the days inn in September and was great .
Have only played at Fallsview. They both offer NLHM1/2 and you casino card is good for both. It is quite a walk from casino to casino. There are 4 Days inns downtown, stayed there In September and I did not pay for parking. Nads I like that. I'll do some work on hotel rooms in the mean time, Clifton Hill is so Cheesy it's fun. Would love to see some more Ridge members try and make this one.

Yes, I found the Days Inn w/free parking (do you remember...Centre St...is that the one?). The Days Inn I was looking at is actually a little cheaper even including the parking. The one w/the free parking is closer to Casino Niagara and the one that charges for parking is more in the middle of the two. Was thinking about staying at the one that was more in the middle, even thou I hate to pay for parking. Just include it in the freakin' room rate. Anyway, the difference is only like $12 (Canadian)...it's more of which one would be better location wise. But if you're saying the one you stayed at was good, then I'll go with that one since who knows what the other one is like. I looked on Trip Advisor and both have good reviews. Think I'll book the one w/free parking...can always cancel later.
EDIT: Booked!!

Stayed at centre street includes free breakfast, walking distance to casino Niagara and on the edge of Clifton hill. they even have their own card room in the hotel. Walking distance to many fine eateries.

[unfunny pun]Looks like Mike Eagles won't be able to play with NADS.....your loss!!! [/unfunny pun] I'm thinking about playing Friday night instead of Saturday. I've only been to Fallsview twice, and the 1/2 tables don't start picking up until mid afternoon, and crossing the border can be ugly that time of day. As we get closer, let me know what time you think you might make it (I might play hooky from work in the afternoon if you're early enough). I've also been playing more 7 stud (mostly hi low |

That was the name of my softball team when I was younger. We wanted to call it "GoNads", but they wouldn't let us. Turned out, "NADS" was better. Our girlfriends where the cheerleaders, yelling,... You guessed it: "Go NADS, Go NADS!!! |
