Default Another good run at teh live poker

I just got back from Jasper and I had another good night. This makes two in a row. I went two weeks ago but didn't ever get around to a report.

My wife told me Friday that she planned on spending the day Saturday with her sister, so that can mean only one thing, I have to go play poker. Got a couple of guys from the home game to go with me and we head up about noon and arrive a little after 2:30.

I had to go to the bathroom, and being the older of the three I took the longest, damn prostate, and TK and Nick got the last two seats at 1/2 NL. So all they had available was the 2/5 NL. I was a little bit hesitant as the last time I tried it I got fucked really hard with absolutely no lubricant. As good as that might sound to some of you , and you know who you are, not that there is anything wrong with that, I didn't enjoy it. I didn't want to stand around with my thumb up my ass so I took the 2/5 NL seat. I asked them to keep me on the 1/2 Nl list so I could move as soon as a seat became available. Well, by the time a seat became available was up about $200.00, so I decided to stay where I was.

I thought it was going to be another ass raping, because about 10 hands in I end up going all-in when I flop top pair after I am re-raised by a guy who I knew was not a good player. I thought he was on a flush draw and just trying to bully me as he had about $700.00 sitting in front of him and I only had about $60.00. He had bottom 2 pair and I end up making my first $100.00 re-buy. That was my low point as the very next hand I made it all back plus a little extra. I was on the button and had 3 limpers so I raise to $15.00 with AT sooted. I get three callers. The flop was A J K, it's checked to me and I make it $30.00. I get one caller. The caller is a Indian guy from India, not native American, who I have played before. He is the ultimate calling station and must be extremely wealthy as he goes through $100.00 bills like they are nothing. The flop is another J and he again checks to me I then go all-in for my remaining $55.00. He calls and he has J9. The river is a Q and I double up.

From that point on I lost very few hands. Even AA held up and this time I got the AA when someone else had the KK. He also had a pretty healthy chip stack, so I made a little over $200.00 on that hand. I ended up walking away form that table with just over $800.00

I then played the tourney and had a real good chance at making the money, but I decided to gamble with 55 late and it bit me in the ass. I was UTG with 55 and I limped. A player in late position then raised to about 4x. We were at the final table at this point, and there were 6 left and top 3 get paid. Everyone folds to me and I get the brilliant idea to re-raise all-in. I have a feeling he has AQ, AK and I hope maybe he will fold it. Sure enough I was right. He had AK sooted and he called. He hit his A on the flop and I was crippled, down to about 5 BBs. A few hands later a shorter stack goes all-in and a medium stack calls, I have AJ sooted and being so short stack I push all-in, the meduim stack calls, and I end up winning the side pot. The short stack had 99 and the medium stack had A7. The very next hand the same medium stack raises to 3x I look down at AQ, so again I go all-in. He calls me again and again he has A7. He catches his 7 on the flop and I am out in 6th.

I then go get something to eat and when I come back they only have a 1/5 spread limit table available. So I play that while I wait for a NL table to come open. This was different I must admit. You can bet anything from 1 to 5 on every street and each street is capped at $20.00. I played it for about 30 minutes and won $3.00. I won about $25.00 on one hand when I had AA and got a guy to call me all the way to the river and throw in all his chips on something. He raised to $5.00 pre-flop and I re-raised to $10.00. He called and then he called a $5.00 bet on every street and only had about $3.00 left at the river which he gave me as well. KK, QQ maybe. A few hands later I lost most of that profit when I raised to $5.00 with KQ sooted on the button and got 4 or 5 callers. The flop was all under cards but two of my suit. it's checked to me so I bet out $5.00 on the flop and get 3 callers. The turn is a blank it's checked to me again and I check it hoping to hit my flush at the river. The river is a blank someone in EP bets out for $5.00 he gets a caller and I fold. Don't remember what they had but it was better than my K high.

I then get a seat at a 2/5 NL: table and get nothing I end up losing my $100.00 buy-in and decide to call it a night. With this $100.00 loss and the $100.00 loss from the tourney I made a little over $500.00 for the night. I made $350.00 two weeks ago when I went so thats a pretty good run for teh live poker this month. I needed it as I am getting my ass handed to me online in cash games. Now if I can just not lose to much between now and Monday online, this will be a positive month.

Sweet! Congrats! Thinking of going to West Virginia next weekend and this just makes me want to go more. Been a while since I've played live.
