AC in August...I think

So I got this offer in the mail...two night's at a Harrah's property in AC ranging from $49 to $99 a night, not including weekends (of course). I love the Showboat's poker room so after looking at gas prices climb and climb, I almost didn't go for it but fuck it. I can win that back, right? Right?

Anyway, picked some dates around some crap happening at work. Showboat, $59 a night. Shooting for arriving Wednesday, August 6th, checking out Friday, August 8th. The room I picked normally goes for $149 a night (if that's the one I get...they reserve the right to fuck me over when I check in and I'll probably end up in some closet), so that's cool.

But then I start checking out some other offers online that I have in my "Total Rewards" card account and what do I see? Two FREE nights!! I try to book the same dates to see if my free nights are available. It says "uh, you already have resos for that time period...wtf?". So I try some other dates the following week and keep getting "yeah, sorry, your offer's no good then". The dates are correct, so I assume those dates aren't available for my free nights. I give up because it says you need to bring the card you got in the mail with you and I didn't receive a card in the mail. So I didn't want to cancel my $59 room, not get the free room, and then screw up my $59 rate. So we'll wait to see if I get a card in the mail like I did with the cheap night. And if I do, I might call them and see if I can actually use it.

At any rate, I should be in AC in August, if anybody else will be around.

I might be able to get down there for a day. It doesn't look like I will be heading to Iraq until late August at the earliest. Keep me posted on your plans.....

Sweet! I was wondering when you'd be leaving. I can confirm that the dates above are correct. I wish I could stay over that Friday night, but the rates are way too fucking high. So, arriving Wednesday, August 6th...checking out Friday, August 8th. Might stick around a little Friday afternoon before heading back.

BTW, I got the other offer in the mail yesterday. The free dates don't kick in until the first two weeks of September. I'm already going back to NJ twice in September, with probably no chance to hit up AC.

Also, I will be back in AC Monday, Sept 8th, leaving Wednesday the 10th. Will have the GF with me if anybody's gonna be in the area.

I would like to come down Thursday after work. Any chance I could crash on the floor? Looking at hotel rooms and not seeing anything cheap unless I stay away from the boardwalk.

As for September I might be on my way to Iraq. Tentative departure date is Sept 9th, but this is the federal government. It will most likely be pushed back again.

Does the GF play cards? What does she do down there? My wifey usually shops at the outlets so maybe she would want to come to.
