$20 tip trick?

I hear people talk about this all the time but who cares about their room in Vegas? You're spending as little time as possible in it and if you're looking to sleep around you're doing your best to make damn sure you're doing it in the OTHER person's or people's room.

OK...so I tried the $20 tip trick a the Mirage last week, and I did get an upgrade from a standard room to a pool view with a private elevator. The elevator was the best part, as only the 24th and 25th floors shared it.

the difference in the room rate was about $50 a night, so I felt it was well worth the $20.

Think about it. That $20 probably represents 2-3 hours pay for those people. Wouldn't you hook someone up that gave you $20 under those circumstances? Me, I'm too cheap and usually broke to do it, but I would if I could.

based on their overall hotness, I think the Mirage front desk girls are probably in the $18-$20 per hour range.

It's obviously not against the Hotel's rules, as she kept the $20 out for everyone to see until I was checked in.
