I just got done delivering an order to a customer's home. The new homes here are just getting bigger and bigger. There are some customers who have homes that I think are just outrageously huge for the number of people that live there. One looks like a castle and it's for two people. The one from today is easily twice the size of that one... I can't even comprehend the square footage. 20,000? At least 20,000.. has to be more. Family of 4. God bless them for working their asses off and being able to afford it though. I won't begrudge them that at all, not one bit. But it will use up some resources to be sure. Holy cow. Accordning to the gas company, my monthy heating bill for one of my business locations will average over $900 per month next winter and the location is only about 1/4 the size of her house.

"over $900 per month next "
Thas alotta frames! ![]() I just did a (IT) House call for some sickingly rich people here on Long Island. For those who know Long Island, this house was in Asharoken, nuff said? For those who don't, it's probably the Hampton's of the North Shore of Long Island, but probably more expensive foot for foot. As I approached the house though the automatic gates along the circular driveway were not one, but 3 SUVs. A Range Rover, the Hummer (not the H2 or H3), and of course the obligatory Black Escalade. When I got done with my 2+ hours of work on her Computer Systems, she had the nerve to try to chew me down on the price/hour.

On the price of oil, I liked this story: Indiana Man Operates Oil Well in Backyard, Producing Three Barrels of Crude a Day . It's not urban sprawl, but cool all the same.

Guys, come on now... don't fall into that trap. Having a big house, fancy cars, etc., etc., is not the same as being rich. Most people you see with that shit are in so much debt that it would make your head spin around three times. Debt != rich

Holy crap I was just thinking about this same thing the other day! It reminds me of how tiny the towns in Ireland are. You can literally walk from one end of town to the other in 5 to 10 minutes.
