No, this is a different movie... I told you how bad I thought the new Burt Reynolds poker movie is. It's called Deal, I think. I'm still very much looking forward to The Grand, which is a completely different movie.
For those who want to read a review, which gives my opinion of the quality of the Burt Reynolds film Deal which has nothing to do with the movie we're all looking forward to, but doesn't give away the plot.... TEH SPOLIERS????!??!!!! Maybe Quote:

The movie may suck, but the trailer was OK. Richard Kind (Paul Lassiter from Spin City) seems to have a funny-ass role in this flick. "I'm actually playing a hand with Tex Brunson". That, and the Party Poker t-shirt might be a tell!!!

Well I did enjoy the trailer. It alone (sadly) automatically puts the movie as 2nd on the Best Poker movie list...well maybe 3rd 'cause I guess Rounders qualifies as poker-related.
On a similar note, I just saw Lucky You a couple weeks ago. I laughed at the ridiculous and stereotypical crap shown in every scene of that movie and was saddened by having wasted my time with it. I remember wanting to make a post like: lol @ guy winning then being called back due to misdeal then losing lol @ guy making speech and calling massive all-ins twice with lowest pair etc...but the list quickly got way too long. In summary, I too am looking forward to this new movie. |
