Fuck the Flyers! Who gives a rats ass about those jerkoffs.......
Going to be a great series. Pittsburgh has not played a defense corp that is as mobile and good as they will see against Detroit. However, Detroit has not faced the best player in the playoffs by a country mile either so it should be interesting. If the mobile D of Detroit can keep Malkin in check and the other forwards, they can win easily. However, there in lies the problem. Anyway, I am still not convinced that Pitts D is all that good. When you have the bevy of talent that Pitt does up front a mediocre D looks good anyhow. Should be interesting. I am going with Detroit in 6 but would not at all be surprised if I was wrong. This is definitely one series that is impossible for me to pick with total conviction.

I didn't expect Detroit/Pittsburgh in the Finals. This should be a good series that goes deep. My wallet says Detroit in six; my heart has Pittsburgh in seven....Go Pens (mostly because I can't stand Hasek. He is a freaking douche with pine splinters in his ass from riding the bench in the playoffs).

Miami...it's not just the Pens D...it's the forwards hussling back and making plays as well. Fucking Hossa's a stud. Skating behind the other team, catching up, lifting their stick, taking the puck and away we go. Shame they can't resign him...too expensive with all these young guys coming up for new contracts (Fleury restricted this season, Staal and Malkin unrestricted after next season). Hossa's been a joy to watch.
The Pens forechecking has been awesome as well...creating turnovers that have turned into goals. We'll see if they can keep that up against Detroit. This should be good. I don't think either team has faced what they're about to see yet in the playoffs. Puck...fucking GREAT avitar! Nice...from someone who remembers watching him. Sevens...fuck you. |

Agree with Puck... Detroit in 6 but still cheering for the Pens. Detroit defense and Osgood are quietly very good. The Pens forwards remind me of how good the Russians are at Cycling the Puck...They seem to have so much room.
I have watched more Hockey this post season than in the last 3 years combined...and I am enjoying it. Thats what you get for being forcefed the shitless, useless, poorly run, no talent, slowest fuckers. overpaid slackers, old has been team...Toronto Maple Leafs

Well, the Pens were certainly outclassed last night. Thank goodness it's a 7 game series! I'm hoping they regroup and play better Monday. I'm worried, but not panicking. As I've been mentioning all thread, this team hasn't lost two games in a row in quite some time. Different circumstance for them now, but hopefully, they can rebound again. Since I'm sticking with Pens in 6, that means Detroit would have to win 2 games, so we just got that first one out of the way early.
I hate this: ESPN - Pens' Therrien plans to shuffle lines for Game 2 of Stanley Cup finals - NHL But he's been juggling lines all season. I hate it because it will look like panic to a lot of people who don't follow the Pens closely and I can see those boneheads on Versus pounding that fact over and over again. I admit I am wondering too. BTW, they opened Mellon Arena last night so you could watch the game on the Jumbotron. $5 to get in (proceeds to charity), free parking, consession stands open. Over 13k people showed up! I am not planning on going down on away games unless the Pens have a chance to win the Cup...then I would think it would be pretty neat to take in all that excitement right at the Arena...if it doesn't sell out! Gotta keep the faith!! Go Pens! |

Well, I guess that's about it. Fuck. Pissed about last night's game. I think maybe they have one more win in them. I'm hoping they do so at least Detroit will win the Cup in Pittsburgh and I'll be there...although it will hurt to watch another team skate with the Cup in our building. You know what...scratch that. I don't want to see Detroit win in Pittsburgh. At any rate, it's too soon for the "well, we had a good season talk", so let me just say that Game 3 in Pittsburgh (first home game for us) was fucking unbelievable. Incredibly loud. Just awesome to be there live. Some pics:
![]() Here's a shot from my seats during play. The camera makes everything look farther away. For example, that guy's head in the lower right corner...he's in the next row ahead of me. Anyway, love these seats with all the action right in front of me and at the end where the Pens shoot twice: ![]() These next two...we started the White Out...everybody is supposed to wear white. Pretty cool looking, but I didn't want to crop and resize the pics to post and I hate it when big photos stretch out the threads. So, I'll just provide links: White Out #1 White Out #2 I even finally bought a Pens jersey. Crosby Home Jersey. Paid an extra $15 to get the Stanley Cup Finals patch. It's black, so I'm hoping that if the series does come back to Pittsburgh, we don't have a White Out so I can actually wear it to a game. |

WOw, that's pretty cool getting everyone on the same page wearing the white. Did they give out white shirts at the door or something?

Yes. We did it for the first game of the second and third series (and they gave out t-shirts then, too), and then the first 2 games of the Finals (free t-shirts both times). The GF gives me hers, so I'm pretty set on the white t-shirt front.
