Default Hey, I'm a fatass thread

Man, I think I've gotten nicely proficient at poker for the last 2 years but it's taken it's toll and I really realized just how bad it's gotten during this last trip to Vegas. I've gained nearly 50 pounds since I've been clicking all evening 7 days a week. Of course, I could stop playing so much and go out and exercise! And I may... haha. But it's Cleveland and if it's not raining it's soon-to-be fucking cold.

So, I'm using today's NLHE profits to buy this... SchwinnŽ 230 Recumbent Exercise Bike

I think it's a good bankroll investment because the more fit I eventually get back to being the better poker I'll play.

How big of a dumbass move do you think it is to get this and pedal like a moron while I'm playing one or two tables? I figure it's gotta be better than sitting there.

Or I can join a gym for $200/month (There are no normal gyms anywhere near work, only "atheletic clubs") but I'll have to cut out my afternoon poker sessions which have been quite profitable.

Anyone else become a poker fatass and want to unfatass with me?

Yes, and not so much.

But I'll be glad to live vicariously through you! Good luck.

I find that wrestling with guys, while playing poker, keeps it interesting and keeps me fit!

I'm not fat yet, but I am out of shape and that means that it won't be long if I'm not careful. I definitely need to start some type of structured exercise routine myself.

For what it's worth, I use to do this quite a bit. My wrist got sore trying to lean over and click the mouse though. I wanted to get some sort of hand-held mouse or voice command software, but instead, I got a mountain bike and went outside like a normal person

Did you get enough exercise to do anything whatsoever? I figure I'm so chubsy-ubsy right now that I could probably lose a few pounds a month if I bothered to open my own Pringles cans.

I already use a trackball instead of a mouse and poker from a comfy chair with the trackball on the arm of my chair or mah belly so that's prolly not an issue here.

Well I guess it's a good idea. Back in the day I would be multitabling SNGs and wait for them all to die and then when you have a free few seconds with just one or two tables left go and do situps, pushups on the floor, with greater frequency until they are all dead. Then start another cluster of them and keep going like that.

Doesn't really work with cash though. You could get the bike, I think it's a good idea in fact...

IDK... this has been over a year ago, but I think it helped. I'd always get involved in a big hand and have to stop pedaling though. I eventually found it easier to put in some decent exercise before I sat down to play any poker. I'm not in great shape, but I'm not looking like a poker player either. Good luck shedding some pounds.
