I'm not sure what has happened. Last night my laptop was fine, today it's not.. Really not a major problem, but EVERY time I right click my mouse freezes for about 5-10 seconds.. I never realized how much I right clicked, and I cannot live without right clicking..
I've googled around and haven't found much.. I thought it might be an windows update that downloaded while I was alseep or something last night, so I restored my computer back a day, no luck, so I went two days, then three.. No luck with any of them, so I dunno.. I know we have some computer guys on here, I'd gladly pay to get this fixed, but I'd rather pay one of you guys that some random guy.. I have to fix this to work on this computer, so any help you can give would be great..

Well I would do a few checks before re-installing the OS right away. I've got an email request into my computer-expert buddy, but here are my thoughts:
1. I assume you have swapped mice/used a non-integrated one to see if it right-clicks ok? Heck I'd even try different usb ports if using an external mouse just to see. 2. Do a basic system clean - defrag, run msconfig and disable non-essential services and/or boot in safe mode and check mouse. Check for virus/spyware too, of course. 3. Update drivers and check for general software incompatability...like does this happen in only one program or did you add anything new in the last day? ...ugh...your website booted me while posting this message. |

hmmm things I would try
1) different mouse to make sure it is not hardware related 2) Plug the mouse into a different port 3) Check for spyware as others have suggested. 4) reinstall mouse drivers Let me know if any of these things fix it |

If you need spyware/antivirus here are a few free programs:
Ad-Aware (spyware removal) AVG Free Anti-Virus This last one is an open source project so it is a little bit more complicated to download and install Clam AV (anti-virus)

Hmmm, I just switched the mouse and that seems to have fixed it.. I've been right clicking for 10 minutes and its not locking now..
The simplest solution.... Thanks for all the help guys, I'm going to back everything up now just to be safe.. If the mouse thing didn't work I was restoring back to factory.. I have all kinds of virus/spyware stuff so I didn't think it was a virus.. Anyway, thanks for everyone that responded..
