Ali: :Ad::Tc:
Polaris: :Td::7h:

Preflop
Polaris raises, Ali reraises, Polaris calls.

Flop: :Ac::6c::Ts:
Ali bets, Polaris calls

Turn: :Th:
Ali bets, Polaris raises, Ali reraises, Polaris calls.

River: :4c:
Ali bets, Polaris raises, Ali reraises, Polaris FOLDS

Sick read. If that raise on the river was to find out whether he was ahead it would have been much more +EV to just call. What kind of programming allows a raise/fold?

To maximize value against other hands, I believe raising is the correct play here. I am surprised that it took them so long to build this. Limit hold'em should be easily beatable by a computer, but of course a pro can screw the computer once we understand how it is playing. For example, one can raise with trash on such boards against the computer to get it to fold, if we know that it's on a raise/fold mode. The idea is to build an unbeatable computer player, which is not going to happen in Poker like in Chess.

P.S. I wrote a small program to compute certain probabilities for me while playing a hand. It's not completely automated, but I know what's involved in building these things.

This is exactly why I can´t play limit. I wasn´t programmed with a raise/fold button either, but I do understand it´s a standard limit play.

Apparently this one learns. After 5000 hands it is supposedly unbeatable.

EDIT: And no fucking way is folding on the river the correct play with trips for fuck's sake.

http://www.cs.ualberta.ca/~games/poker/ ... ackground/

"It learns, adapts, and exploits the weaknesses of any opponent."

Poker academy utilizes the same AI, and PA suggests 5000 hands before you will really have trouble beating it.

I'm sure our "friends" at winholdem are probably loving this.
