Looking at TD's avitar, I just figured out why they call the lousy poker players donkeys. the DOG probably has approximately equal intellectual ability to the DONKEY, but the Dog is much more attractive. The HORSE is not known for being an intelligent animal, but has a fine appearance. The COW, is a descriptor more likely to use to label a heavy woman. Few people would have the moxy to call a lousy poker player a SKUNK.

I dislike it when a player calls someone a donkey. Now I know that calling players Donkeys may also be implying an unattractive physical appearance.

If someone sitting in my vicinity at a live game calls me a Donkey, I might Belch in his/her direction.
