As to why they don't want him, it's simple economics. The perks they pay out to him far outweigh the house advantage. If they eliminated comps, they'd lose him and other customers too. It's better to just cut off the advantage players. It isn't really that uncommon. |

The problem for them is that with perfect play the value of comps exceeds the expected winnings. Normally the casino doesn't care about that because of the law of averages. For everyone who turns a profit there are several people losing. They do begin to care when the stakes get high though. Now you need a lot of losers to make up for that. Opinions tend to differ on what's a fair way for casinos to protect themselves from advantage players. It's fair to say that many people express them without considering that the casino needs to consider the local market and gaming commission. Personally, I have no idea what regulatory and market problems they have. I do know it isn't always practical to adjust the paytables or comp rates to avoid issues. While it's somewhat shitty to be shown the door, I think that's also a risk you run when only playing at an advantage. |

The other thing, of course, is that they don't have to comp them at all. There's no obligation to comp. If that was the issue, the casino can simply not comp the player, and eventually the player will decide if he wants to continue at that venue.
