I've done it. It's really pretty boring for the most part. He's plays tighter than anyone I've seen, and most of time when he bets he scares everyone off. I'm usually quite impressed.

Yep, I have been playing really tight the past few weeks. It's a sound strategy, but only as high as $1/$2 full ring, after that you'll get your ass handed to you, and even at .50/$1 or $1/$2 you'll get creamed without the proper table selection. You can play profitable poker with a very low VP, or with a high VP but it must always be aggressive poker. I don't recommend it at all for 6 MAX.

I had gone through a couple cooler periods and things were looking pretty bad. I switched to $100NL full ring and played a simple tight/aggressive game on only one or two tables at a time. The longer I spent at table selection the better the table and the tighter my game was. On several tables I had crazy or tricky calling stations to my left and so I simply waited for the nuts and bet at them if they were crazy or checked to them if they were tricky. They continued to play their game, not adjusting to me, so...... profit.

Now my bankroll on Full Tilt after the wins above, some other wins, rakeback and bonuses is healthy again and I'll dip into some 6MAX where I play mid 20s to low 30s VP. My bankroll dipped a little too low to take on that increased varience. And again, this first-aid kind of strategy only works if you're playing low enough so that the villains still are not at the level of thinking which will allow them to adjust to you. For me it was good for 14.35BB/100 over 10,500 hands. If you do it at anything other than low to mid-low full ring you're going to get killed.
