Thanks, Corey...and welcome to the forum. She ended up getting the Phil Gordon book, but I'm not sure how far she got. She was on vacation, then a business trip, and then her father just recently passed away. I haven't seen her much lately and I'm sure she's not thinking poker right now.

I was wondering if anyone has read Gus Hansen's book "Every Hand revealed". Was thinking about ordering it because with those wanna be's good poker tips they are putting online, you don't get anywhere. It doesn't help at all. So I would like to either get Hansen's book or maybe Negreanu's. Which one might be better if you're rather new to poker?

Gus' book is basically a pretty deep analysis of the hands of every hand he played in one of his major tournament wins. It's good reading to get into his head, but most of it will be pretty useless for the beginner since the strategies discussed are pretty advanced.

I haven't read Daniel's books but I would imagine, they's be pretty basic & decent for beginners.

If you're new to poker, the books mentioned about are the way to go.
