Default I almost bought Matasow's book yesterday... (and a btw,)

...Anybody read it yet?

I was at the bookstore looking for that Moshman HU SnG Book (they didn't have it), and almost bought the Matasow Autobiography. Looks like a pretty quick read (big type and thick pages).

Curious if anyone's read it yet and would recommend or not...

(now for the btw) I haven't read much in the way of poker books lately. I kind of gave up on the "Kill Everyone" book. It has lot's of really deep math and is more of a big MTT tournament book imo, but I think it's a very good book if that's your cup of tea. In fact, I'd be willing to trade it for something I don't have if anyone's interested. I think we can use media-mail from the post office for next-to-nothing (like $2).

Next poker book I get is going to be "Elements of Poker" by Tommy Angelo. I have been listing to his deucescracked series "The Eightfold Path to Poker Enlightenment" and I would go so far as to say it is life altering in my case.

Yeah, that may be a winner, too imo. I think he's awesome. I dunno if you ever heard his 2 Part PodCast Interview on "Duece Plays with Bart Hansen" (I think I posted about it a while back), but it was my 1st exposure to the whole anti-tilt mindset that I've been working a lot on. Great stuff.

The Podcasts, in case you're interested the 2 parts are on iTunes from 2/23 and 3/2 respectively.

Is that "The Eightfold Path to Poker Enlightenment" available online anywhere (free, obv.)?

I don't know, but I do know they have a free seven day trial. If you go that route you may want to wait until all the episodes are out though. He's done 5 of 8 and they are released bi-weekly.

Cool. I may just do that.

As for his book, I went back to my bookstore at lunch and they don't have it, can't get it. Apparently it's no longer being published/printed. Off to Amazon I go.

The first several chapters are interesting.... can't speak to the rest yet.

No poker stuff but you get to see what a trainwreck can do when he gets backing.

Yes.. Well, sort of.. My MP3 player fucked up and cut some off, but I listened to 90% or so of it, I'm pretty sure...

Not bad. Like you said, not a lot of poker strategy, but some. Some cool stories as well. I never knew he was a big shot programmer at Symantec. Interesting stuff imo.

I actually did buy this book a week ago and i can't put it down. it's such a great read. The rollercoaster that was Mike's life is so interesting.

great book, IMO. Anyone else read it?
