Thumbs up Ideas for the HU Series

Ok guys and gals, we need some details on how to set up the HU Forum Series. In he other thread someone mentioned a format, but we need specifics.

Do we need to set up a series of HU tournaments?

One on one individual matches?

Best 2 out of 3?

How do we do scoring?

This series is mainly a rewards for all you loyal forum members, and we will be adding to the prize pools cash and prizes, and a special grand prize for the winner. So, I want to make sure we have a great time doing this and make it worth while for everyone to play.

Give us all your thoughts and opinions. If anyone wants to help organize it, keep points, or w/e just let us know.

This was one other HU tournament I was in and they kept track pretty good using this site:

CardRunners March HU Madness

Once the brackets were set up people had several days to get their individual matches done and report their results. The poker site used wouldn't matter though we used Full Tilt. We got together with our opponent on IM or the phone to click on a HU SnG at the same time and it worked pretty good.

Whatever it is, please, PLEASE don't do the HU deep stack no blind increase SNGs on Stars. Those can last HOURS.

I like best 2 out of 3 format. Deep stack would be better I think.

Only because I dont like heads up... LOL

Felt Poker Super Series

Players are split into pools of 6 per table.

Players start with 3,000 chips.

Each pool has two matches, with points being allocated as follows:

Winner: 10 points
Runner-Up: 7 points
3rd place: 4 points
4th place: 2 points
5th & 6th : 0

The points were cumulated from those 2 matches, and the players with the highest points then progressed to the finals.

Also, maybe we can do both HU and a regular tournament. A series of HU matches, then a couple regular tournaments, then a championship finale. Just thinking out loud..

Like I mentioned before, I like the superstars style format, where you play a round-robin-esque series of tables, and then a championship final table. Each round has prizes and the final table is the same as a regular round but much more money. If we have lots of players we can even do a finals series.

Or, if we don't have enough players, perhaps we can just do HU tournies. If we do, please use blind increasing tournaments.

Ok how about something like this.

2 rounds of the super series like described below using the points system.
2 rounds Heads Up bracket play with a similar points system.

you are allowed to play in any or all of the 4 rounds. It would be more benificial to play in all 4.

that would lead to a final MTT hurrah.

Points won during the series play would earn you your starting chips for the Final.

For example,

3000 chips for every 1 point earned.
if you want everyone in the final you can go with everyone starts with 3000 chips plus if you earned 10 points in the series play you would start with 33,000 chips.. If you won 2 points in series you would start with 9,000 chips and so on.

If you dont want everyone in the final then you just do the 3000 for every 1 point earned. If you have 0 points you have 0 chips in the final.

I'm still digesting all of this, but whatever we end up with, I'm all for a STT (or MTT if there's enough participation) at the end for us non HU experts. (SFu kicks my ass HU and he sucks )

Another thing, I know you guys are loaded and $30-40 bucks in buyins along the way won't make a dent in your bankrolls, but since it's about competition and not money, we could save some money from taking advantage of the free money HU games on Stars. Some coordinated IM'ing and it's not that hard to get into a standard HU SnG for free.
