Online Poker at Full Tilt Poker - Rush Poker: Details
Quote:
Cons: It's not real poker. You don't get time to develop reads or history. However, whoever comes up with the most game theory optimal strat for this is probably going to play a bagillion tables and rake it in. More discussion here - Official Rush Poker Thread - Internet Poker - Online Poker Forum

They also raised the minimum buy-in on normal tables to 35bb, and introduced a new "shallow" table type in which the buy-in is between 20 and 40bb. They raised the deep table buy in to 75bb. So that stuff is obviously great. Just hoping the Rush poker doesn't steal all the fishies.

OK I'm gonna try it now. My preconceptions are that it's going to be hella fun, but not something that is going to catch on beyond 1/2NL.

Sounds like that could be fun. Since you're likely to get one hand max per "sitting" no HUD would kind of suck, but I'd guess that standard ABC poker should be profitable.
And Johnny's gonna love the other news imo. Too bad they don't make you top-up or leave the table when you dip below a specified stack size. That would be the nuts.

OK I played just now. Minimum buy in is 40bb, max is 100bb.
It's crazy! Addictive. HEM tracked all my hands, so np there. I started with one and jumped to 2 tables and had no problem. I would guess the most I could handle decently would be like 4. My impression is that, for the time being, nitting it up is good there. I managed to dump 3.5 bi's after getting off to a decent start. Not sure if I'm going to try it again later or not. I think I was just running shitty though because my friend won like 6 buy ins without breaking a sweat. It's tough not knowing anyone's reraising or 4-betting ranges or even basic vpip/pfr and never being sat with them longer than one hand means you can't just observe them to find their play style. So being a nit is going to work out swell. 2 tabling my hands/hr was over 500.

Another Interesting side effect of this format is that you cannot rail somebody. The increased anonimity could be desirable to the fishes since you can't hunt them down and play against them.
Interesting. I don't know if I'd say "it's not real poker". It's not real poker the way we know it where we learn to take advantage of players tendencies to gain an edge, but I think I'd still consider it poker. At least there's more skill involved than those all-in flipaments they're running over at Aced and stuff. If I was a fish, I think I'd be all over this. It absolutely removes some of the advantage regulars have over casual players imo.
