And start putting people on rag hands like Q-6.
This was the last hand of a 4 hour session. Full Tilt Poker, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 9 Players LeggoPoker.com Hand History Converter BTN: $8 SB: $3.70 BB: $10.20 Hero (UTG): $10.30 UTG+1: $2.55 UTG+2: $1.90 MP1: $4.60 MP2: $2 CO: $18.55 MP2 posts $0.05 MP2 posts $0.10 Pre-Flop: :Ah: :Kh: dealt to Hero (UTG) Hero raises to $0.45, 3 folds, MP2 calls $0.35, 4 folds Flop: ($1.05) :8h: :Qc: :8d: (2 Players) Hero bets $0.65, MP2 raises to $1.50, Hero calls $0.85 Turn: ($4.05) :Td: (2 Players) River: ($4.05) :4s: (2 Players) Results: $4.05 Pot ($0.40 Rake) Hero showed :Ah: :Kh: (a pair of Eights) and LOST (-$1.95 NET) MP2 showed :6s: :Qs: (two pair, Queens and Eights) and WON $3.70 (+$1.75 NET) I dont know.....maybe this should go in the strat forum....but I'm really sick of playing well but STILL being a break even player at 10NL.....its because I lose stupid stuff like this. Should I just give up on trying to hand read at micro stakes or what? I lost AK to 4-7suited earlier tonight as well. wtf?? how do you play effectively when idiots are calling you with crap like that? Maybe this was a hero call and i was a little tilting.....I'm just getting frustrated i guess.....

If you put him on a Q-rag hand there then it's the right call given that price. I don't see anything wrong with the hand really, I wouldn't have done much different than perhaps put him all-in straight out or bet 0.70 against a real stack.
And I don't know how many times it needs to be said, but if people are calling with rags and beating you many times over then you have some serious postflop problems. I'd suggest, use pokertracker to track how you play with hands like AK, AQ and if it is not +moniez (green) then look at the hands.

If I'm not mistaken, FTP charges way more rake at the micros compared to other sites. Try PS or Cake or something, even with rakeback at FTP, playing 10NL you will pay rake out the ass compared with other sites.

Sevens,
I'm with you brother! more times than not, maybe 6 out of 10 times I can get them to lay down shit like that with nice aggressive C-Betting. Actually I usually C-Bet a little more than thje 60ish% you did here. But You're kind of screwed when they just call or play back at you. Unfortunately the 4 out 4 of the remaining 4 out of 10 times they don't lay it down, I lose the hand and more BBs than I win in the aforementioned 6 out of 10; if you follow? It's probably stupid, but I'm starting to consider giving up on hands like this where they re-raise unless I hit the flop. I will definately continue to C-Bet here, but without any reads, I lose too many BBs with hands like these when they don't lay down. I dunno. I'm kinda frustrated lately too, so my input's probably not very useful.

Try check/folding or checkraising against these players. If you have to call because you've bet, it's just compounding a previous error. All of these add up even though they seem insignificant at the time.

You don't mean instead of a C-Bet right? after a C-Bet Call?

Well, if the money is going to go all in on this flop, you'll be in the lead more often after c/calling instead of bet calling. If you bet and get raised, he might well be going crazy with a pair of deuces, but that still beats AK. Unfortunately after betting, it may be incorrect to fold if you think you have 12 outs that could win it for you.
It snowballs. |

That certainly makes a certain degree of sense, but by not C-Betting here, don't we give him a chance check and make a hand on the turn. Playing OOP sucks here, which is why I most of the time C-Bet more like 65-75% here. I find I'll get them to fold more often then getting called or raised to better hands than mine.
Long Story Short: Minus any reads or image considerations, are you saying that you sometimes Check a "missed" flop here?
