With gas prices completely insane now I'm thinking seriously about getting a moped for my daily commute to work. I've found some resources online that claim anywhere from 70-150 mpg for these things. I found some really cheap ones that look pretty good for around $850 online, and they ship it to you and requires a bit of assembly but not too difficult. I also plan to try to hit up a few moped shops around town soon.
I also am looking very hard at the Kawasaki Ninja 250 (
Ninja® 250R), which IMO is a really sweet looking bike and gets around 70mp, and it's not too expensive. I even found some local sellers on craigslist selling their Ninjas for around 2500-3K that look *really* nice.
What are your plans for dealing with gas prices? And does anyone by chance already own a moped and can give their thoughts?
