BlueFire Poker Review
Overall BlueFire Poker Quality
We gave BlueFire Poker Trianing a 8 of 10 compared to other training websites. The production quality of the videos is on par with the other major training sites; the video and audio are clear and crisp, for the most part, and the instructors stay on topic. The video concepts aren't terribly creative, but with the quality of the instructors bluefire boasts, they can get away with less window dressing.
This site is geared toward players who are already moderately successful and want to reach the next level. As such, most of the videos will focus on advanced concepts instead of rudimentary fundamentals. All the coaches actually grind in and crush the games and stakes they make videos about, which is not as common on some of the other training sites as they might have you believe, so you can feel confident that their advice comes from "real-world" experience instead of how a presumed "pro" might hypothetically approach a certain game and stake.

Training Video Types
All of bluefire's videos to date have been in the "big bet" games, No-Limit Hold 'em and Pot-Limit Omaha. This makes sense, because the founder of bluefire, Phil (OMGClayAiken) Galfond, specializes in those games, and aside from making many videos himself, hand picks all of his instructors. The bulk of the vids are made at 6-max or HU tables.
Training Video Limits
Most of the videos on bluefire are in the mid to high stakes range, as bluefire's main focus is equipping already successful small and mid stakes players with the tools they need to move up. As such, most of the videos will be at NL200 and PL100 and higher, right on up through the nosebleeds, although there are occasional micro stakes videos as well.
Variety of BlueFire Trianing Videos
Bluefire's videos typically come in one of three formats: session review, in which the instructor(s) will commentate over a previously recorded session, be it his session or a student's, pausing as needed to elaborate on key points; Hand History review, in which the instructor(s) will dissect individual hands at length; or live play, in which the instructor will simply play a session and discuss his ongoing thought process throughout. Very often, the videos will feature more than one instructor, which makes for a more thorough and lively discussion.
BlueFire Poker Trianing Coaches/Instructors
Bluefirepoker boasts perhaps the strongest lineup of poker professionals of any training site. Phil Galfond, the founder of bluefire, is touted by many of his peers as one of the best NLHE and PLO players in the world. Niman Kenkre (Samoleus) has long been one of the most consistent winners at short-handed high stakes NL cash games; in fact, he is often referenced as one of the early pioneers of the "light 3-bet" from the golden days of Party Poker. The other pros are likewise all proven, current winners at mid to high stakes, hand-picked by Mr. Galfond himself.
BlueFire Poker Forums
Bluefire has a slew of forums, but none of them are very active.
