Why I Play Poker

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

No, this isn’t some deep thinking post about my mental state and why I decide to play poker as opposed to doing something else with my time.  However, that would be a good post.  I think I’d have to think about the real reason why I play.  Hmmmm.  Anyway, no, this post should be called “Why I Continue To Play Poker”. Some Updates

Some dribs and drabs on what’s been going on.  It’s another long post.  Sorry!  I can’t help it!

He was asking poker professionals to donate 1% of their tournament winnings to help fight cancer (you can read more about it at Prevent Cancer Foundation website). I thought it was a pretty cool idea and decided to do something similar. (more…)

I’m 70 Cents Short…Now What?

Those who have been reading along know that this year did not start out great for me.  On June first, I was down $191.45  for the year.  I really thought I was going to have a losing year since I don’t play that much to begin with.  Then, I decided to take a break that lasted 6 weeks, I played like one session, and then took another 2 weeks off while I decided if I even wanted to keep playing at all.  And when I did start playing again, I dropped from 25NL to 10NL.  With the amount of hands I play a month (usually under 2k), it would be hard to get back to even at those stakes.
