September 08 Results

I won’t get a chance to play anymore this month, so I thought I’d write a post about my play in September.   Once again, the month started out poorly.  Seems I have a habit of dropping a buyin or so at my current 10NL to kick off the month, then spend the rest of the month trying to get it back.  And this month was more of the same.  Part of the problem is I play so few hands that if I get down a buyin or two, it’s hard for me to turn the month into a positive one.  One bad AA or AK hand to kick off the month and I’m fighting to grind out a profitable month. Future Post Proven Wrong

In a future post that I have partially written, I mention how KJ was a favorite hand of mine, but not so much now.  Maybe I should change that post before posting it.  Hee hee. (more…)

People learn in different ways. Some people do better by reading the subject’s material. Others do better in a classroom setting. Some do better by just doing it and learning as they go while others learn best by watching someone else as they explain things to you. And some do better when taught one-on-one. Most learning is probably a combination of all of the above. But I think it’s important to know which way of learning is best for you. (more…)

More Lessons

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

As I mentioned, this process is going to be a long one because Ugi and I both agree that we are busy and will work on my game when we can.  It’s more of a casual agreement and that’s fine.  So when Ugi sees something in my game and I work in it, it could be weeks before Ugi sees the change in one of my videos.  For example, he is just now reviewing the first video that shows me raising more with pocket pairs, even though the video he watched that spawned that advice was made in mid July.
