OK, pencil me in for Tournament #54…$1k NL Hold’em on Sunday, July 1st. Just made my airfare and hotel resos. Probably wait until next month to preregister. So far, this is costing me about $250 more this year due to not getting comps at the Rio. Airfare down about $70, but hotel a lot more than last year. Just four more years and I qualify for the Seniors Tournament.
I’m getting closer to making a decision on going to the 2012 WSOP. I’m about 95% sure I’m going. First off, I need to clear something up from my last post. I was hoping that I made a mistake in finding airfare since last year it cost me around $500 and when I looked the other day for this year, it was around $1,000. I hate the phrase “make up my mind!”. I understand what it means…you are waiting for something or someone to decide something so you can decide something. But it fits here with the WSOP schedule. Finally it’s being released today so finally I can make up my mind about if I am going this year. I should mention that I am writing this part before the schedule is released and will post later. I started to write this post a couple times and had to keep changing it as my mood changes. The 2011 WSOP was my first WSOP and, despite the tone of my Trip Report, I was planning on going back in 2012. But then I lost most interest in poker and if I were betting man (and I don’t gamble…I play poker (not totally true but I like that saying)) and had to choose between betting on me going or not going, I think the odds were swinging hard towards the ‘not going’ side. I haven’t posted anything in a while because, well, I haven’t done anything poker related since returning home from Vegas and the World Series of Poker.
