The Bots are gone…

So as mysteriosly as they appeared, they’re gone!  Many members of the forum weren’t sure if having them around was a bad thing or not…

One thing for sure; they sure played horribly.  So having them at the table may not have been a horrible thing since they weren’t that tough to beat & were so predictable.  The other (un-knowing) people who were at the table probably played differently as well because they were there as well.

For example, I’ve noticed that people will often play more cards against players who raise light.  They think that since these people will raise with what appears to be Any Two Cards, that Any Two Cards can beat them.  In my opinion this is exactly the opposite way you should play against this type of opponent.   If I’m up against a player who will open raise with weak cards, although I may call in position with cards that I can stack him with if I hit a great flop, most times, I’ll just wait for premium cards and take them down that way.

So to make a long story short, maybe having them around loosened up the tables as a whole.   So now that they’re gone, I’ll be anxious to see where my hourly winrate goes.  I played a little last night and it seemed like Good ‘ole Cake to me, so I’m fine with their departure.

The wierd thing (or things) that I found amazing though was the complete disregard and downright bashing of the guy who brought this up on a popular Poker Forum & then the quick or almost immediate action that was seemingly taken by Cake to remove these bots once someone at my forum brought it to their attention.  I must say though that it would have been nice to get an official announcement from Cake on the issue so I could post it on that forum for all to see. rolleyes
