Nobody ever said it would be easy…

Looking at how long ago my last Blog entry was, I felt it’s about time to post an update…  Since I last wrote about my progress in the $6.50 18-Man SnG’s I’ve played more than 1000 games as I’m approaching 1500 games in total.  I’ve managed to keep a respectable (imo) 16%+ ROI in these games despite a recent 300+ game downswing/breakeven stretch as you can see in the graph:

All $6.50 18-Man SnG's since moving up

I’ve far exceeded my original goal of ever withdrawing $$$ to consider myself a winning player having withdrawn well over $1000 in the past few months alone.  I have also stuck to my rule of keeping 100 buyins online before withdrawing, so thats nice.  That extra bankroll has come in handy to prevent tilt during this last month which has been by far my worst one in half a year.

I took a couple of mini-shots at moving up to the $15+1 18-Man SnG’s but although I held my own and didn’t lose $$, it’s a little unnerving to have well over $100 out there at the tables when I’m not properly rolled for it.  So I’ve put on hold any plans to move up for now.  In fact, I think I may just get back to my routine of the last few months of withdrawing regularly until the dust settles from whatever may happen after December comes and goes.  The extra $$$ will come in handy for Christmas as well.  (Wow, that sounds so degen, doesn’t it??)

This last month has shown me that moving up to the next level isn’t going to be as easy as it was to move up from the last level, but I’m not going to rush myself.  I’m just a little on the plus side in profit overall for October when I count a $75 Cash from a freeroll on Full Tilt Poker, so I really can’t complain.  I’ve almost climbed myself out of this little hole called variance I’ve put myself in, so wish me luck finishing the current climb on my way to the next mountain.
