Although it’s only been like two months since my last post, I feel that a lot has changed, so it’s time for an update. The title of my last post pretty much said it all… “Move up in Stakes = uneasy nerves…” Even though I had moved up to the $16/18-Mans and played over 1000 games at that point, I didn’t really feel confident that my ROI was “real”. It’s like it could easily be a streak of decent play mixed in with a bunch of good variance. Read the rest of this entry »

Well, I guess it’s about time for an update on the move-up to the $16 18-Man SnGs. I’ve played enough of them now to know a couple of things… 1) I am good enough to beat these games at a pretty decent Return on Investment (ROI). But 2) I can’t let my guard down or this higher buyin will eat up a bunch of bankroll before you know what happened.. Read the rest of this entry »

Wow, I didn’t realize it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything.. So I guess it’s time for an update. In my last post I was in the middle of a bit of a downswing/breakeven stretch. Thankfully that’s behind me now and things have been on the right track for quite a while. Read the rest of this entry »

Looking at how long ago my last Blog entry was, I felt it’s about time to post an update… Since I last wrote about my progress in the $6.50 18-Man SnG’s I’ve played more than 1000 games as I’m approaching 1500 games in total. Read the rest of this entry »

Since I’ve been around this and other Poker Forums for well over a year at this point, I’ve learned that there are a couple types of “Whores” relative to the Online Poker world. 1st there’s the Freeroll Whore. These are people who are unlikely to ever deposit real money at an online poker room, but make it their mission to seek out all the freerolls that are offered by poker rooms and forums all over the interwebs. Well, as promised I’m back with an update on my 2nd (and hopefully final) move up attempt to the $6.50 18-Man SnG’s. It was only a couple of days after my last post when I reached my bankroll goal and decided it was time to take another shot. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m going to try & take over where I left off in my last entry… So after feeling pretty good about my game and getting my bankroll to a level higher than it’s ever been before, I decided it was time to take a small calculated shot at moving up to the $6.50 18-Man SitnGos. I planned to play my regular 6-table sessions, (something that’s pretty much second nature to me), at the $6.50 level and at any point, if I lost 8 buyins ($52) from where I started I would move back down and grind it back up again at the $3.40’s. I’ve been grinding 9-Man $5.50 and $6.50 Sit and Go’s on Stars for like 6 months and although I never really came close to busting out after playing 1000’s of these games, I also never really got to a point of crushing them like I thought I would by now. Read the rest of this entry »
